A spectacular shipwreck in the Øresund is the focus of a new exhibition at the Maritime Museum, but the adventure comes to an abrupt end when one of the divers working on the project is found dead at the local diving club. Dan and Flemming must delve into the legends, not only about the ship, but also about the deceased himself. Dan has moved into the annex with Marianne and Flemming, whilst he longs for Josefine, who remains in Sweden with her ex-husband and stepsons.

An incident during the investigation shocks everyone at the station, but especially Dan, who delves deeper into the investigation of Jeppe Nielsen’s murder. It turns out that a figurehead is merely the tip of the iceberg, for beneath it lies a treasure that many want to get their hands on. But is the treasure also the key to the murder? An unannounced guest pays a visit to the Sommerdahl villa.

The neighbor of Helsingør Camping is found dead on his patio after a barbecue dinner. But who was the deceased having dinner with? Dan and Flemming head over to the campground, and soon conflicts between the residents and the deceased, wealthy neighbor are running rampant. The commune at the Sommerdahl villa has gained another group of members, and Dan enjoys having everyone together.

Traces are combed through at the campsite, and the police are scrutinising every alibi. In the family commune, Flemming is stealing the women’s attention.

Among the relics of the past is an antique dealer found shot dead in his own shop. The police must examine every single item involved in the case and receive help from the family. Hanegaard questions Dan’s commitment to the station’s green transition. Josefine and Flemming grow closer at home, which puts further pressure on Dan.

Dan and the team continue to search for answers as to who last saw the deceased antique dealer. A witness reports an argument around the time of the murder, but is this the truth or a smokescreen? A messy family business and a debt continue to loom in the background, and the police must dig deeper into the past to get to the bottom of the case. A case of blackmail might just lead them to the killer. Dan tries to get some time alone with Josefine.

The water polo tournament kicks off with the murder of the club’s young coach and referee. Competition can drive people to do terrible things, whether in sport, love or, not least, activism. But is everything really fair in the climate war and in love? The deceased’s ex-boyfriend might be able to lead the police closer to solving the case – if, that is, they can find him. And can they get to the truth before the case blows up in their faces? New secrets and old feelings fill the collective at the Sommerdahl villa.

The activists lead the police on the trail of a potentially decisive article. The ambitions at Helsingør Tidende are sky-high, but who is to judge what is true and what is pure fabrication? Perhaps the source behind it could prove a boon to the investigation. Hanegaard’s environmental initiatives at the station are being evaluated by the Chief Constable. A song haunts Dan and his relationship with Josefine, but are his emotions getting the better of him?
