Pau Gasol, Juan Carlos Navarro, Felipe Reyes, José Manuel Calderón and Raül López met in a talent detection programme set up by the FEB to save Spanish basketball. The Golden Juniors have grown up and are facing the great challenge: to become world champions. The World Cup in China is the first championship without Golden Juniors in 20 years. Spain do not start as favourites, but Marc Gasol, Ricky Rubio, Rudy Fernández, Sergio Llull, Víctor Claver and Hernangómez learned from the juniors and must prove that the Family continues.
