Fiat 8V Supersonic: At the Edge of Ambition Folge 1

Du

The Fiat 8V Supersonic is instantly coherent. The shape feels finished the moment you see it. What takes longer is understanding why it looks the way it does. Built in the early 1950s, the Supersonic reflects a moment when postwar optimism and aviation influence pushed design forward faster than certainty could keep up. Living with the car reveals its real value, not in perfection or performance, but in restraint, stewardship, and the discipline to preserve intent rather than rewrite it.

Wearing the 904: 1964 PORSCHE 904 CARRERA GTS Folge 2

Du

Joe Buzzetta's 1964 Porsche 904 Carrera GTS is officially Chassis 005. The fifth 904 ever built. A factory racer from day one. Sebring. Nürburgring. Endurance races across Europe. Porsche used it as a test bed, cycling engines through out the years. "It's almost like you are wearing something," Joe says. Not sitting in. Wearing.

The Last True Shelby: 1989 Shelby CSX VNT Folge 3

Du

Is This the Last True Shelby? After this 1989 CSX-VNT, Shelby Automobiles never built another production car at their facility. Only Cobra replicas. Shelby would return to Ford in the 2000s, but those were Ford's cars built at Ford's factory. This was different. Number one of 500. Carroll Shelby kept it for himself. 7,000 of its 8,000 miles driven by Shelby. It now belongs to Alex Leventhal.

Beyond Stuttgart: Armenia's Lone Porsche 964 Folge 4

Du

After the Soviet Union collapsed in 1991, Armenia faced immediate crisis. Energy shortages. Economic collapse. War. Within five years, half the population emigrated. The automotive landscape reflected that erasure. Soviet-era Ladas sat without gasoline. Dealerships didn't exist. Parts networks didn't exist. The concept of a sports car, of driving for pleasure rather than survival, belonged to a different reality entirely. For Artem Simonyan in Yerevan, bringing a Porsche to Armenia became a mission. Twenty years ago, he opened the first Porsche dealership in the country. The Guards Red 964 he imported for himself is the only one in Armenia.

1971 Alfa Romeo Giulia Super: La Double Dose Folge 5

Du

Mike Marett bought a 1971 Alfa Romeo Giulia Super with one plan. It didn't go that way. What started as a rally build for the Targa Newfoundland turned into something else entirely after a drive home from Ohio. The car was prepped. Motor rebuilt. Fuel cell and fire suppression installed. It never made it to the start line. What happened next is probably the most honest thing a car can make you do.

Underdog: 1969 Mini Cooper S Racing the Tour Auto Folge 6

Du

The Tour Auto is one of the last places where a 1969 Mini Cooper can line up alongside a Cobra and earn its result on the same roads, under the same clock. Valentin Simonet and Quentin Leblond of Mecanicus took their Mini Cooper S Mk2 from Paris to Nice. 2,200 kilometers. Five days. And a podium with their third in class.

Meet the Man Who’s Driven the Same GTI for 34 Years: 1983 VW GTI Folge 7

Du

Travis Washay bought this 1983 Volkswagen GTI in college to flip it. Theft recovery, no wheels, no front spoiler. It was supposed to be just another transaction. He kept it and won the SCCA regional and National Tour championships in it. Drove his first laps at Lime Rock in this car. He still has it, around 34 years later.

Soul Made: The Concrete Dealer Folge 8

Du

Concrete is heavy, fragile, and honest. It chips if you set it down too hard. No two pours cure the same way. Louis Dos Santos asks it to be something it was never meant to be. Every piece is poured by hand in his San Diego studio. 3D-modeled from scratch, printed as a resin positive, cast in silicone, then concrete. A 930 Turbo. An F40. An E30 with a hidden pipe system that rolls incense smoke from the exhaust.

The Beauty of Brutality: Porsche 996 GT2 Folge 9

Du

The 996 GT2 was the last turbocharged 911 Porsche built without traction control. No stability management. No electronic safety net. 462 horsepower, rear-wheel drive, and whatever judgment you brought with you. Ceramic brakes from the factory before anyone else was doing it. Porsche made 963 of the pre-facelift cars. Around 70 of those were Club Sports. Roll cage, fire-resistant seats, no carpet. The last Widowmaker. Kamil Dubiel owns one of each. He drives both on mountain passes the way they were built to be driven. He never expected to own either one.

Walter Röhrl's Rally Car Lost in Africa for 20 Years: Opel Ascona 400 Folge 10

Du

A conversation at a bar in Nairobi led to one of rallying’s most improbable rediscoveries. Hidden in plain sight, scattered across a Kenyan property, sat the Opel Ascona 400 that won the 1982 World Rally Championship with Walter Röhrl. The last rear-wheel-drive car to ever do so. What followed wasn’t a traditional restoration. It was something more careful. More deliberate. Ralf Antweiler spent six years bringing the car back to life, preserving every mark, every scar, every trace of its journey across continents and decades. Because this isn’t just a rally car. It’s a survivor.

The Ferrari That Was Never Meant to Be Red: Ferrari F355 Folge 11

Du

Paris changes at night. The streets open up, the light softens, and the sound of an engine carries further than it should. For Alexis Parenty, the Ferrari F355 was never just about speed. He was nine when GoldenEye came out, and he still remembers the opening scene. A red F355 chasing Bond’s DB5 through the mountains above Monte Carlo. The Aston Martin was the legend. The Ferrari was the faster car. But that is not what stayed with him. It was everything around it. The shape, the sound, the sense that there was something deeper behind the badge than just performance. Craftsmanship. Racing history. A feeling. This is a story about memory, about sound, and about finally getting the car that never left your mind.

Flow State: A '91 Porsche 964 as a Tool of Meditation Folge 12

Du

Most people search for quiet to find clarity. A walk through the woods. Still water. Silence. But what if silence isn’t the only way? For Jon Bernbaum, clarity comes at 4,000 rpm. His 1991 Porsche 964 C2 doesn’t quiet the mind by removing noise. It overwhelms it. Every input demands attention. The weight of the steering. The urgency of the gearbox. The constant conversation between road and chassis. This is flow state, found not in stillness, but in motion. Built with intention and sharpened through collaboration with Emotion Engineering, “Penelope” is more than a hot rod. It’s a tool. One that rewards precision, punishes hesitation, and leaves no space for distraction.

Soul Made: Shinjuku Project Folge 13

Du

Ask Pawel Kalinowski what place on earth looks most like Blade Runner and he won't hesitate. Shinjuku. It's a district in central Tokyo, dense with neon and noise, layered in a way that makes it look like someone built the future in the 1960s and then just left it running. There's a shade of retrofuturism in Pawel, especially with this project. He looks backward from the present and tries to see what should have been there. For him, that meant a rally. One that started in the electric glow of Shinjuku and ended at Fuji Speedway, on a road that only ever existed in his head.

Short of the Grid: A Rare Alfa Romeo Autodelta Giulietta Turbodelta Folge 14

Du

Look at the original Alfa Romeo ad for the Giulietta Turbodelta and there's a military fighter jet parked on the tarmac behind it. That was the pitch. This car was built to go war on the track, and they needed to sell 500 road-legal examples to put it on a GT grid. They built 361 before they ran out of buyers and pulled the plug on the homologation program. The Turbodelta never raced. Every car they made went home with a private owner, and Massimo owns number 117. "To make something this unique," Massimo says, "you need creativity, but with a pinch of madness."

Ferrari 365 GT4 BB Through the Redwoods: Forest Run Folge 15

Du

A Ferrari 365 GT4 BB rips through a forest road, with no dialogue or narration to get in the way. Just five liters of mid-engine flat-twelve and a canopy of trees. The Berlinetta Boxer is one of the rarer sounds in motoring. Most Ferrari twelves are V-shaped and sit up front. The BB's flat-twelve sits low behind the cabin instead, in a layout almost nobody else used in a production road car. The layout came from Ferrari's Formula 1 program, which won championships with flat-twelves through the 1970s. Nearly five liters and twelve cylinders splayed 180 degrees, with the engine stacked on top of the transaxle to keep the wheelbase short. Pininfarina styled the body around the entire engine. Ferrari built it from the late 1970s through the early 1980s, and nothing like it has been built ever again.
