There are ten extra excited participants who will occupy the baking competition tent this year. For the first time, The Big Baking Competition is introducing the 'Danger Zone' - an elimination round where the participants who have done the worst will have to compete to stay in the competition. The five men and five women will have to bake their way through themes such as Great Britain, Halloween, berries and decorating techniques, birthdays, and an extra surprising theme for weeks. Throughout the season, there will be lots of experienced and cake-loving guests from both Denmark and abroad. Already here in the premiere program, the first participant will have to leave the program.

The Great Bake Off celebrates its 15th anniversary this year, and naturally, that calls for plenty of cake. The contestants whip up beautiful and creative cake tapas and are judged by highly competent guest judges—specifically, a host of winners from previous seasons. Judge Katrine has ordered an XXL birthday *kringle*, and the contestants must work together to create this massive pastry. Meanwhile, the danger zone demands exceptionally steady hands from the unlucky few selected for it.

Cherries play one of the important leading roles in the classic 'Black forest cake', or Schwarzwälder kirschtorte, as Markus would call it in German. The participants must give their personal take on the berry-filled layer cake. The secret challenge requires both drawing skills, with colored dough, and high speed when the participants have to bake and roll the perfect berry roulades. In the Danger Zone, it's good to have experience and dexterity when the cream puff should hide a fresh berry.
