Dong-joo finds out the truth about his father's death through Ki-dong. The prosecution looks into the Gold Cash case thanks to Bureau Five. Dong-joo and the members of Bureau Five help out with the investigation.

Dong-joo and Hye-young are trying to track down the informant, the only person who can confirm whether Han Kyung-mo is the mastermind behind the Gold Cash case, and they find something surprising. They think the real culprit is framing Han and someone is trying to manipulate the situation. Meanwhile, Young is looking into Myeongju Electronics case that happened 17 years ago and thinks there is a link between the two cases, and it has something to do with Sancho Bank's loans.

Hye-young finds out the truth about the Myeongju Electronics case from 17 years ago and confronts Oh Young. She becomes upset and decides to quit her job, but Dong-joo stays by her side in his own weird way. Meanwhile, Oh Young publicly reveals the corrupt relationship between Sancho Bank, PQ Group, and the NTS.

A complaint regarding corruption within Jaesong Construction is received by Bureau Five and sparks a conflict between Dong-joo and Oh Young. Dong-joo believes that it’s the one and only chance to bring Tae-joon down, but at the same time, he suspects that it might also be a trap. Eventually, Bureau Five launches a forced investigation into Jaesong Construction, which leads to the discovery of a shocking truth.

The unforeseen truth behind the corruption weighs on Dong-joo, leaving him completely vulnerable and confused. Meanwhile, the initial step toward Jaesong Construction’s bankruptcy puts Dong-joo and Bureau Five in a risky position. The only way out of Tae-joon’s carefully planned trap is to somehow avoid bankruptcy and find Seo Young-jae who’s on the run.

In Tae-joon makes it official that the meeting minutes are manipulated to slander his position. Meanwhile, due to the suicide of Cho Tae-goo, Dong-joo is being investigated for threatening Tae-goo and maybe leading him to kill himself. However, Dong-joo does not fall for the petty trap. With the help of some others, he prepares to reveal the truth.

Tae-joon uses Jaesung Construction's bankruptcy possibility to his advantage. He tries to disband Bureau Five and force Commissioner Baek's resignation. Meanwhile, Dong-joo and the people of Bureau Five chase after Tae-joon and Ryu Yong-sin to find a way to fight back.

With the death of Ryu Yong-sin, Dong-joo and Bureau Five lose their last lead to put Tae-joon away. However, Dong-joo starts to piece together the puzzle of his father's death and finally finds his chance to beat Tae-joon. But before the last blow, Dong-joo gives Tae-joon one last chance to confess.
