Joining the BBC Concert Orchestra in today’s Piano Room are one of the most successful British Bands of the last forty years. They’ve sold more than 30 million albums in that time and are as popular as ever, with the biggest arena tour of their career coming in April. Performing an extraordinary version of ‘She’s A Star’ and two other amazing tracks, here are the wonderful, James.

American Grammy, Golden Globe and Oscar winner Christopher Cross plays his songs ‘Arthurs Theme (Best That You Can Do)’ and ‘Sailing’, as well as a cover of The Zombies A rare UK performance from American musical legend and Grammy, Golden Globe and Oscar winner Christopher Cross. With an incredible set of iconic 80s tunes it’s a real joy to welcome him into the Radio 2 Piano Room to play with the BBC Concert Orchestra orchestral versions of his songs ‘Arthurs Theme (Best That You Can Do)’ and ‘Sailing’, as well as a cover of a 1960s track from The Zombies. Christopher talks Vernon Kay about writing with Burt Bacharach and Carole Bayer Sager for the 1981 Dudley Moore film ‘Arthur’, working as a runner in the 1970s for Led Zeppelin and Ginger Baker, and hanging out with Paul McCartney!
