Jan Koller (Roeland Wiesnekker), a theater-loving detective with the Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) in Berlin, is tasked with investigating the death of his colleague, Frank Müller (Dirk Borchardt), who perished in Prague. Of all places - Prague! For Koller, his birthplace is associated solely with traumatic childhood memories. Yet, he has no choice; he must travel to the Czech capital. He is paired with Klára Majerova (Gabriela Maria Schmeide), a local officer recently demoted to patrol duty. For Klára - assigned to the case primarily due to her German language skills - this is an opportunity to prove herself, provided that Koller’s unorthodox methods don’t test her patience too severely. Together, the two investigators track down Frank’s brother, Jörg (Hendrik Heutmann), who lives in Prague, and arrive right in the middle of his wedding to the enchanting Jitka (Alina Levshin).

Berlin-based investigator Jan Koller (Roeland Wiesnekker) finds himself needing to solve an unusual death in his hometown of Prague - not as a German federal police officer on an official assignment, but as the prime suspect in a murder case! Having just finished investigating the death of a colleague, Koller had intended to leave Prague - a city he detests - as quickly as possible. But then, his colleague Klára Majerova (Gabriela Maria Schmeide) reveals that his father, whom he had long believed to be dead, is alive and working at a retirement home inhabited primarily by Germans. The reunion with his father (Albert Kitzl) goes poorly; it stirs up childhood trauma for Koller, and his father wants nothing to do with him. Refusing to be brushed off so easily, Koller decides to stay the night at the retirement home. Shortly thereafter, Klára Majerova is called to investigate an unusual death: a resident of the home has died after falling from the first floor.
