On the 23rd of August 1980, 16 year old Cheryl Dee Fergeson was raped and murdered during a volleyball tournament in Conroe, Texas. Clarence Brandley, the schools janitor found her naked body in the schools loft. After evidence was destroyed and police pressured witnesses in to testifying against him, he was sentenced to death. He was later released and the judge in his new trial said that it was one of the most blatant cases of racism and perjured testimony in history.

After 17 years on Florida's death row, a tape recorded confession from another man was found which helped Juan get a new trial and he was released in 2002.

'One For Ten' is an online series of films that were produced and broadcast over five weeks in April and May of 2013. During that time, a team of four traveled the width of the US and interviewed ten individuals who have been freed from death row. Each of the films profiles a major issue in wrongful convictions highlighted through an individual case. 'One for Ten' is a completely new form of interactive film-making; each film was shot in a day, edited the next and uploaded that night. This allowed us to utilise social media to engage our audience in the filmmaking process. They were able to ask interview questions of each our interviewees as well as helping to shape the films with feedback. During the five weeks, we travelled over 5,500 miles in our RV (which doubled as a mobile production office) and a new film premiered online every Tuesday and Friday.
