Time with Eun Seol leaves Seok Jin increasingly unsettled by emotions he can no longer ignore. Mi Ran brings Jun Hwan to her side as her new secretary, while Hae Ra's severe mosquito allergy suddenly flares. Then someone elsewhere shows the exact same symptoms, hinting at a connection no one sees coming.

Memories of a past Mi Ran wants erased return, strengthening her decision to take Jung Sun’s place. Eun Seol finally sets out to meet Seok Jin’s mother, So Yeon, after much hesitation. After clashing with Jung Sun over Chairman Kim, Young Hoon encounters Mi Ran late that night, and an uneasy moment begins.

Mi Ran keeps a close eye on Chairman Kim, who was especially close to Jung Sun's father, and investigates his activities. She also finds opportunities to approach Eun Seol. Despite Hae Ra's efforts to undermine her, Eun Seol remains focused on her work, but her attitude toward Seok Jin begins to change. Meanwhile, as So Yeon prepares for the anniversary of her husband's death, she finds an old lighter.

So Yeon discovers a lighter among her late husband's belongings, bringing back painful memories of the day of the accident. Meanwhile, Mi Ran discovers signs of corruption involving Chairman Kim and obtains a key piece of evidence. She also receives an unexpected call from Guk Cheol. Elsewhere, Seok Jin finds a lighter on Young Hoon's desk that looks exactly like the one he saw at home.

Eun Seol joins forces with Jun Hwan to start a new scholarship initiative. Meanwhile, Mi Ran plots a clever trap to block Guk Cheol, who has been actively searching for her. At the same time, Young Hoon starts putting his strategy into action in order to exert strong pressure on Chairman Kim directly.

After seeing Young Hoon’s contract with Chairman Kim, Jung Sun presses him for the truth behind the deal. Seok Jin grows uneasy over Young Hoon’s changed attitude, while Young Hoon is shaken by the tie Seok Jin wears and the old memory it stirs. Then, as Eun Seol leaves work with Jun Hwan, a mysterious girl appears before them, opening a new mystery.

Na Hyun Hee’s accusation leaves Eun Seol shaken, especially when the girl’s rage mirrors the wounded person Eun Seol remembers being. As Hyun Jae digs into Mi Ran’s hidden past, old records point to the name Joo Ae Sook. Then Mi Ran faces someone who still remembers that identity, and the past refuses to stay buried.

Mi Ran denies the existence of Ae Sook and gives Guk Cheol a chilling warning, while growing closer to Young Hoon. Meanwhile, Seok Jin discovers Hae Ra's hidden intentions. After learning that Mi Ran and Young Hoon had dinner alone, Jung Sun warns Mi Ran to keep her distance from her husband.

Eun Seol notices Jun Hwan's suspicious behavior, while Seok Jin finds himself torn between Hae Ra and Eun Seol. Meanwhile, Guk Cheol begins to question Mi Ran's claims. Determined to uncover the truth about their daughter, Guk Cheol visits the hospital where Ae Sook gave birth.

Eun Seol realizes Young Hoon and Mi Ran were behind the rejection of the scholarship program after learning the board members received gifts. Meanwhile, Seok Jin agrees to move forward with his engagement to Hae Ra. As tensions rise, Hyun Jae tracks down a former nurse who may be able to confirm whether Mi Ran is Eun Seol's biological mother.

Mi Ran instructs Secretary Choi to secretly search Hyun Jae's laptop for evidence. Realizing he is under surveillance, Hyun Jae urgently warns Eun Seol to stay away from the scheming director. Meanwhile, So Yeon joins Seok Jin for dinner at Young Hoon's home, where an unexpected accusation stops the host cold.

When Young Hoon approves Seok Jin and Hae Ra's engagement, hope rises. Eun Seol prepares to reveal her past in a public interview to win support for a rejected scholarship program. But as Mi Ran secretly searches Young Hoon's study, she finds a suspicious document in his drawer tied to the accident that killed Seok Jin's father, raising questions no one is ready to answer.

Eun Seol takes matters into her own hands to rally public support for the scholarship program, while So Yeon vehemently opposes Seok Jin and Hae Ra's engagement. Meanwhile, Hyun Jae receives a phone call from Hyun Hee as he investigates the suspicions surrounding Manager Na.

Seok Jin suggests postponing his engagement to Hae Ra because of So Yeon's opposition. Meanwhile, Mi Ran visits So Yeon and subtly questions her about the day Seong Woo was in the accident. Elsewhere, while examining Manager Na's belongings, Hyun Jae discovers a crucial clue hidden inside a fountain pen.

With the scholarship program approved thanks to Eun Seol's interview, the power struggle between Jung Sun and Young Hoon over Cheongma intensifies. Meanwhile, feeling threatened by Hyun Jae's warning, Mi Ran gives Jun Hwan secret instructions.

Hyun Jae's death leaves Eun Seol trapped in nightmares, terrified that someone else may be hurt because of her. When Hae Ra pushes So Yeon beyond her limits, she finally agrees to Seok Jin's engagement. Jun Hwan, carrying a burden of guilt, reaches out to Eun Seol with an invitation for a drink. Some feelings are too heavy to keep buried.

Eun Seol opens the USB that Hyun Jae left behind and is plunged into deep doubt. Young Hoon tells Seok Jin to hold the engagement within the month or call it off. Meanwhile, the more Jung Sun tries to keep Mi Ran in check, the deeper Mi Ran works her way into Young Hoon's heart.

Eun Seol learns from Hyun Hee that Hyun Jae had the late Manager Na's belongings, while Seok Jin can't shake So Yeon's words that she's afraid of Young Hoon. Around the same time, Guk Cheol slips out of the motel and lurks in hiding outside Cheongma.

Eun Seol finally gets her hands on the items Hyun Jae left behind. Guk Cheol tracks Mi Ran down at Cheongma and is struck by how much Hae Ra resembles her. Meanwhile, Mi Ran uses a lighter she found in Seok Jin's room as bait to probe Young Hoon's hidden past.

Jung Sun grows suspicious when Young Hoon's explanation for staying out all night fails to ease her doubts. Meanwhile, a vital clue on a birth bracelet drives Eun Seol to question Gi Han, who finally shares a story he has kept from her. Armed with what she learns, Eun Seol heads to the address Mi Ran provided, where another mystery may await.

Eun Seol knows that Joo Mi Ran is her birth mother, yet the truth of Mi Ran’s past remains carefully concealed. Rather than confront her outright, Eun Seol gently presses for answers, listening for what Mi Ran chooses not to say. At Cheongma, Guk Cheol’s wait for Hae Ra finally ends when he appears before her, and another tense moment begins.

Hae Ra recoils in disgust when Guk Cheol shows up again, while Eun Seol, hurt by Mi Ran's coldness, resolves to stop searching for her birth mother. Meanwhile, Mi Ran senses that Eun Seol has been digging into her past and plans a new approach.
