With Yanagisawa Hiroto (Suzuki Nobuyuki) joining the team, the Inning Nine Group's buntmen are now fully assembled. Their target this time is Miyahara Natsuki (Yamada Anna), who has recently been sighing a lot. Natsuki is a fan of a certain idol group, but Hiroto and the others surmise that this is because she can't go to an upcoming live show. However, as they investigate further, it seems that the reason she can't go to the show lies with Natsuki's father, Akinori (Toyama Toshiya)... "It's a tense pitching battle, and the first one to make a mistake will lose." What strategy will the buntmen use to read the situation...?

When Hana (Kurashina Kana) goes to visit her mother, Kasumi (Kumagaya Mami), who is hospitalized with a broken bone, she is asked to help out with her food truck, as she will be discharged next week. Hana is confused by Kasumi's words and actions, which do not take her convenience into consideration, and she is unable to concentrate on her work. Meanwhile, the new target of the buntmen is a married couple at work. At first, Yanagisawa Hiroto (Suzuki Nobuyuki) and the other buntmen were not positive, saying, "It is not a sacrifice to mediate disputes between couples," but there's a reason why the two are at odds with each other.

Hana's (Kurashina Kana) mother, Kasumi (Kumagaya Mami), was planning to reopen the diner on the condition that Hana help her. "I think it would be better for you to learn a trade than to continue working at your current company," Kasumi said forcefully, but Hana couldn't even argue back. In fact, Kasumi's innocent words, "It'll be better for you," had been holding Hana back since she was a child. Sensing this, Hiroto (Suzuki Nobuyuki) begins to take action together with the company president, Sakurada (Bando Yajuro).

Manabe (Wada Masanari), a junior of Hiroto (Suzuki Nobuyuki) from his time with the Chunichi Dragons, informs him that he is taking off his uniform and retiring. Shocked by the sudden news, Hiroto desperately tries to persuade him not to give up, but Manabe is determined, and the two end up clashing. Meanwhile, the buntmen begin their activities targeting Kitamura (Miyashita Takahiro), who was once a promising young player but has now been relegated to a passive position. Hiroto can't help but see himself projected onto Kitamura's situation, as he was a first round draft pick but was cut from the team.

One day, a junior high school student visits the strategy room. It is Toudou's (Hirahara Tetsu) daughter, Ayane (Sumita Moeno). Ayane snaps at him, asking, "Is this really your job?" about the role of a buntman, who supports employees from behind the scenes. Toudou can't even look Ayane in the eye, let alone argue back. In fact, Toudou got divorced due to infidelity, and his ex-wife, who took in Ayane, is planning to remarry soon. Hana (Kurashina Kana), whose parents have been divorced, persuades Toudou to face Ayane, but... Seeing Toudou's indecisive behavior, Hiroto (Suzuki Nobuyuki) finally explodes with emotion.

Recently, Kajima (Ishikawa Ruka) has been feeling someone watching her on the way to work or while working. Worried that it might be a stalker, the buntmen offer to guard Kajima. As hiroto (Suzuki Nobuyuki) and Hana (Kurashina Kana) take turns guarding her, they see a suspicious figure approaching... After that day, Kajima's behavior suddenly changes, and she eventually stops coming to work. The buntmen search for info on Kajima, but are shocked to discover that they know nothing about her.

One day, Suematsu (Fukuda Yumi), secretary to President Sakurada (Bando Yajuro), comes to the buntman's strategy room. Sakurada's driver, Mogami (Sano Shiro), has had several collisions, including crashing his car into a curb. Worried about Sakurada's safety, Suematsu discusses terminating his contract before a serious accident occurs. However, Hiroto (Suzuki Nobuyuki), who himself had his contract terminated with the Dragons, doesn't agree. As the buntman team continues their investigation, they discover that Mogami has a surprising hidden past.

Hiroto's (Suzuki Nobuyuki) mother Eriko (Asaka Mayumi) comes from Nagoya with Naoto (Koyama Soumi). Naoto, who was crazy about little league baseball, has said that he wants to quit baseball. When Naoto's team coach (Yamazaki Junichi) asks, he learns that a rival boy has recently joined the team. When he tells him, "It's pathetic for the son of a professional baseball player to be like that," Naoto bursts into tears. Taito's father, Taiki (Moro Shioka), who is watching the situation, is overcome with a certain thought...

President Sakurada (Bando Yajuro) declares in front of the bunt players that "we aim to become the 13th professional baseball team." The manager says he would like to ask Hana (Kurashina Kana) to take over, and then offers to welcome Hiroto (Suzuki Nobuyuki) as a key player. However, Hiroto gives an unexpected deferred answer, saying, "Let me think about it for a while." While everyone is wondering why he didn't accept the offer, Hiroto decides to return to Nagoya for the time being. What kind of future will Hiroto, who has experienced being a home run hitter, being released from the team, and then being a bunt player, choose in the end?
