A jury of twelve ordinary Australians must decide the fate of an elderly man accused of killing a woman, but with key evidence missing, the truth may never be certain.

The trial shifts to forensic evidence as Catherine's partial remains and two bullet casings are unearthed in the accused's backyard, while the Defence mounts a devastating character assassination of her husband.

The trial takes a dark turn when Catherine's daughter reveals past death threats; former tenants testify about the accused's drunken outbursts and a suspicious plumbing blockage in the backyard.

As the trial reaches its climax, a police interview damages the elderly accused's credibility, leaving the jury completely fractured as they prepare to deliver a final verdict.

Locked in deliberation, the jurors struggle to reach a verdict as personal biases and competing interpretations of "reasonable doubt" collide. Deadlock forces a shift to a majority decision, escalating tensions and pressure. A verdict is finally reached - but in this test of our justice system, will they come to the same conclusion as the original trial? The true impact comes after: the judge reveals critical facts withheld during the trial, leaving the jurors shaken and questioning the system.
