A blind Lu Zhao happily rushes to tell her husband, Situ Xian, the good news of her pregnancy. However, once she pushes open the doors, Situ Xian is seen fooling around with Lu Zhao's cousin, Liu Ying Xue. Knowing that Lu Zhao is blind, the two try to fool her.

Xiao Jin Yu goes to Fanyin Temple to find Lu Zhao. She tells Lu Zhao that Liu Ying Xue was the one who caused her blindness by poisoning her, and her husband is fooling around with Liu Ying Xue as they speak.

After taking the antidote pill, Lu Zhao regains her sight and sees Liu Ying Xue and Situ Xian in a secret tryst, leaving her heartbroken.

Situ Xian offers Lu Zhao a divorce if she hands over the entire Lu family fortune. When she refuses, he kidnaps Bao Qin to force her into compliance.

The moment Lu Zhao dies, the formation on Xiao Jin Yu's end breaks, causing Xiao Jin Yu's soul to vanish. Upon learning that the Princess of Chu, Lu Zhao, fell to her death and astonishingly "returns from the dead", he decides to investigate the Prince of Chu's manor.

Lu Zhao seems to be an entirely different person after waking up. Therefore, Situ Xian purposely arranges an assassination to test her.

Lu Zhao reminds Xiao Ren that he can use Fang Yuan Rou's death as a pretext to conduct a search of Prince of Chu's manor, in hopes that the Xuntian Sect will protect her and her nanny.

Liu Ming Fu expressed his wish for Lu Zhao to send Fang Yuan Rou off on her final journey, but his true intention was to set a trap to lure out the person behind Lu Zhao.

Lu Zhao asks Xiao Ren to look for the toxic sacred anise plant to detoxify the poison and resolve the crisis she is in. But to do this, she must go through excruciating pain.

Xiao Ren brings an imperial decree, claiming that Liu Ming Fu colluded with bandits in an attempt to murder the Princess of Chu. He arrests Liu Ming Fu for investigation.

Xiao Ren secretly accompanies Lu Zhao into Pilan Palace, where the Heir-Prince of Ru'nan immediately provokes them. Unable to endure the insults hurled at Lu Zhao, Xiao Ren strikes at once.

Lu Zhao signs the documents, transferring the assets to the Prince of Chu's household. Lu Zhao and Xiao Ren are certain that once Situ Xian obtains the inheritance, he will surely work with the Qiang people to purchase weapons. Lu Zhao wants to divorce Situ Xian before his scheme is exposed.

Lu Zhao and Situ Xian get into a conflict, nearly resulting in a physical fight. Situ Xing Yuan interferes and orders the two to immediately divorce.

Lu Zhao rushes to Xuntian Sect after learning that Xiao Ren is severely injured only to discover that it is a scheme concocted by Ling Su to bring them together. Lu Zhao finds it both funny and annoying. She then candidly confesses her love for Xiao Ren, and the two finally acknowledge their feelings for each other.

Xiao Ren and Lu Zhao suspect the secret brothel has ties to the Qiang people, so they decide to disguise themselves as captive courtesans and infiltrate it.

After uncovering that Situ Xian is the mastermind behind the secret brothel, Xiao Ren leads the members of Xuntian Sect to seize him. Unexpectedly, the next moment, Lu Zhao coughs up blood and falls unconscious. An examination reveals she is afflicted with a deadly poison.

Lu Zhao wakes up and regains Xiao Jin Yu's memories. It turns out that the one who silenced Xiao Jin Yu that day was not Situ Xian, but a man wearing a thumb ring.

Situ Xing Yuan knows that the Lu Zhao before him is actually Xiao Jin Yu, so he takes her back to Pilan Palace and holds her captive. When Xiao Ren learns of this, he storms into the Palace alone.

Xiao Ren successfully escapes with Lu Zhao. From the jade pendant Xiao Ren left behind, Situ Xing Yuan deduces his true identity.

In the Xiao family ancestral shrine, Xiao Ren and Lu Zhao resolve the long-held misunderstandings and untangle the knots in their hearts. Before the ancestral memorial tablets, they bow in reverence and vow to stay together.

Xiao Ren arrives at the traitor Song Lou's residence in pursuit of Situ Xian, where he unexpectedly uncovers his own true identity.

Overjoyed, Lu Zhao prepares for their big day. By contrast, Xiao Ren finds himself consumed with guilt toward Lu Zhao, yet finds himself all the more unable to let her go.

Xiao Ren hands the Imperial Palace Defense Map to Situ Xing Yuan. He turns around, only to find that Lu Zhao has followed him all the way. Xiao Ren has no choice but to admit that he is the son of the traitor Song Lou.

Lu Zhao expresses her willingness to go through with the marriage to Xiao Ren. After the wedding, she will enter the palace together with Xiao Ren as his wife and inform the Emperor of Situ Xing Yuan's conspiracy.

The Emperor reveals the truth of the past to Xiao Ren and orders Lu Zhao and him to play along, using Situ Xing Yuan's palace coup to eliminate him and all his treacherous confidants in one fell swoop.

Situ Xing Yuan leads his troops to surround the main hall, pointing his sword at the throne. But in the next moment, Xiao Ren and Lu Zhao arrive with the Xuntian Sect, encircling the rebel forces.

Xiao Ren wakes, but with his sinews and bones injured, he must rest for a year. Lu Zhao tends to him with great care.

Xiao Ren recovers. Lu Zhao can finally relax. Just then, Xiao Ren receives an urgent report that danger is soon upon them.
