Ancient Rome, 42 BC. Top gents Mark and Gaius begin their first day of running the entire Roman Republic together. How hard could it possibly be?

While Gaius tries to win over a difficult Senate, Octavia has a dangerous idea for a new play.

Cleopatra arrives, Gaius panics, and Mark goes fishing.

The leaders of two mighty civilizations face their biggest challenge yet: small talk.

Sent out on a mission by her queen, Charmian explores the streets of Rome and swiftly gets into big, big trouble.

Delicate diplomacy and gratuitous violence: it’s all happening at the Roman arena, and Cleopatra is not amused.

What do the Romans do when the sun goes down? Some drink, some flirt, and some seek out a mysterious cult who may or may not dabble in human sacrifice…

Charmian is Cleopatra’s loyal servant. Charmian is also secretly starring in Octavia’s play. If she can keep these two things separate, she might be OK – but fate has other ideas.

Quintus is seeing actors for Octavia’s latest comedy before she’s even written it! The stressed-out playwright believes things can’t get any worse. (Spoiler: She’s wrong.)

The pirates have struck! Rome is in uproar! Octavia is writing it all down! But has she really got the measure of the infamous Sextus Pompey?

Unable to devise a rescue plan, Mark and Gaius are at their wits’ end. It may be Cleopatra’s time to shine – for a price.

It’s Romans vs Pirates in the ultimate stand-off. There’s danger and drama aplenty – so why can’t Octavia keep her eyes off Charmian?

When Gaius takes over her latest production, Octavia resorts to drastic measures to get him out of her theatre for good.

Rome offers much for young lovers, but it’s not all fun and games. Also: Mark and Gaius might have the plague. Whoops.

Gaius goes to an orgy and nobody is happy about it.

Murder is planned. Hearts will break. Lepidus may nap. But how many assassins does it take to kill a Roman Triumvir?

As a gleeful Gaius puts Cleopatra on trial, Mark doesn’t know who to side with…

The Palatine Players stage a prison break and it all depends on Antyllus. Elsewhere in the capital, three men take a joke way too far…

Everything’s gone wrong and it’s going to get even wronger. Can Mark and Gaius save the Roman Republic and – far more importantly – keep their jobs?

All roads lead to Rome and the stage is set for a mighty comeback. Everyone has their part to play – whether they’re aware of it or not…
