Caroline admits there is professional rivalry between her and Donald, but no jealousy. When Donald goes on a business trip with his secretary, this is put to the test.

Donald tells Caroline that business and friendship don't mix. She doesn't listen and appoints an old friend to be her secretary, with disastrous results.

Caroline and Donald have accepted an invitation from their best friends, but when business engagements crop up for the same evening, loyalties are stretched to the limit.

Anthea's new beau turns out to be just the sort of new writer Caroline is looking for. One of his other talents, however, is for making trouble.

Edgar visits from New York and arranges for his younger brother, Richard, to join him. Donald is convinced that Richard is after his job.

Caroline and Donald organise a big promotional campaign to launch a book that Edgar bought without their knowledge, and everything goes wrong.
