Rathnam hides diamonds worth 10 crores inside a pair of slippers and hands them to Thyagu, who misplaces them. When he realizes the worth of the sandals, he sends his son, Ilango, to find the pair.

Ilango arrives at Ekambaram's house and is shocked to see a large crowd gathered to pay their last respects. Just as Ilango finds the slippers, a man walks away with them.
