Yaeko, Rito, and Yukie are practicing hard for their first public violin recital. To get over her recent breakup with her fiancé, Yaeko decides to wear the dress she bought for her wedding reception. When she puts it on, Rito begins seeing her in a whole new light. Unfortunately, the recital proves less of a success…

Yaeko, Rhitio, and Yukie choose Bach’s Air on G String as their performance piece for their autumn recital. But Rihito becomes jealous when Mao, their teacher, is asked out on a date by a blond-haired guitarist in a rock band. Then, on the day of their recital, Yaeko receives an unexpected phone call…

Yaeko decides to turn over a new leaf and starts looking for a job. Because Yukie was unable to take part in the autumn recital, Yaeko suggests that they hold a mini concert. Yukie responds positively at first but later leaves class without mentioning it.

Yaeko attends a matchmaking party where she is paired with the straitlaced but sincere Keiichi. Meanwhile, Yukie, who has stopped taking violin lessons to look after her mother-in-law, invites Rihito and Yaeko to join her for a rehearsal. Yaeko is excited about the reunion but then Keiichi asks her out on a date the same day.

Yaeko finally decides to reject Keiichi’s advances and quit the matchmaking site. Wanting to start over, she begins planning a violin concert with Rihito. But when she sees how well Rihito and the attractive Yua seem to be getting along, Yaeko becomes jealous and storms off.

Rihito is busy with his university studies, Yukie is helping her daughter prepare for school exams, and Yaeko has gone back to work. Meanwhile, their teacher, Mao, who has been getting medical treatment, quits the music school and drops out of contact. Yaeko asks Rihito to go check on her, then realizes her own true feelings.

Yaeko realizes she has deep feelings for Rihito. Pouring out her heart to Yukie, she breaks down in tears. Meanwhile, Rihito is beginning to realize he’s in love with Yaeko. At the trio’s mini concert, Yaeko gives a speech to their friends and families about how much taking violin lessons has meant to her.

Yaeko and Rihito finally begin dating after admitting their feelings for one another. Yaeko is delighted to know that Rihito shares her affections, but she can’t hide her concern over the fact that he is so much younger than her. Just then, Yukie contacts them to say she has left her husband.

Yukie, having left her husband, decides to return home after being moved by his unexpected efforts to win her back. Meanwhile, Rihito is despondent about Yaeko’s concern over the gap in their ages. Later, the violin trio is brought together one more time to play at a special party.
