Jamie proves budget cooking is beautiful with caprese chicken burgers and golden spinach pies made with simple homemade pastry. He then elevates overlooked ingredients into a luxurious pork & fennel white ragu. Plus, there's a comforting, retro tinned peach cobbler, and guest chef Anissa Helou shares her soulful Lebanese chickpea dish, madfüneh.

From his Thai red chicken & squash traybake and Sardine puttanesca, to Homemade bagels and a Tinned cherry chocolate mousse – all brilliantly low cost, and totally delicious! Jamie shows how budget cooking can still feel like a treat with comforting Beef & potato pasties, clever Creamy broccoli & blue cheese gnocchi, flavour-packed Crispy noodle fishcakes, and Mango rice pudding with a tropical twist. He’s also joined by Roopa Gulati, who shares her family favourite Red lentil dal with spinach — a simple, low-cost dish for everyone.

Designed to keep costs down and spirits up, Jamie shows that big flavour can come from a small budget, with comforting, crowd-pleasing dishes including Chicken, sausage & white bean bake, Silky aubergine noodles and an Epic toad in the hole, before finishing with a nostalgic Jam treacle tart. Plus guest chef Patricia Chung shares her Burmese classic, Mohinga – affordable, generous and full of flavour.

Jamie wraps up the series with budget-busting Gnarly celeriac skewers served with flatbreads and houmous, a hearty Kinda winter chilli perfect for batch cooking, and a fragrant Spiced cauliflower bake topped with crunchy Bombay mix — all feeding four for under a fiver. Plus, Crispy potato & chickpea parcels and Baked bread & tomato soup prove simple cupboard staples can become a feast for less.
