Once the secrets of Hopwood's Hades are made public, the secure West End world of Fanny rapidly crumbles about her.

Now employed in a fashionable London house as maid to Clive Seymore's wife, Fanny is faced with a dilemma when she discovers the truth behind Lady Alicia's assignations at Nelde.

Love finds Fanny, but it is short-lived as her happiness is threatened by Lord Manderstoke.

For Fanny, an idyllic holiday in France, a chance meeting in Paris, and suddenly Manderstoke appears, bent on revenge!
