Isontalo's Antti and Rannanjärvi are legendary knock-knuckles, whose crimes a new protagonist, police chief Hägglund, is trying to stop. Will the "ugly Vallesman" get the villagers talk and stop the killing? The two-part Häjyt is based on Heikki Ylikangas' book 'Härmän häjyt ja Kauhavan herra'.
