Jane goes to stay in London with her uncle and aunt Gardiner; Elisabeth visita Hunsford. Mr Darcy visits Elisabeth.

Darcy proposés to Elisabeth, and she refuses. Lydia goes to the seaside, while Elisabeth accompanies her aunt and uncle to the North. News of Lydia's elopement reach Elisabeth.

The consequences of Lydia's elopement are portrayed, as well as Darcy's contributions in searching for her and setting up her wedding. Elisabeth realizes Darcy's involvement in the matter.

Mr Bingley returns to Netherfield. Collins sends Mr Bennet a warning letter, and Lady Catherine pays Elisabeth a visit. Mary remains the only unmarried daughter.
