Weather extremes put our eternal battle against water to the test. The limits to feasibility seem to have been reached. In the country's most water-rich province, Maarten and Vincent van Rossem experience the problem of the Frisian 'bathtub' as a race to the bottom, literally and figuratively. Will Emma Wortelboer be showing up in the background?

The Netherlands is not finished yet. This much becomes clear when Maarten and Vincent van Rossem focus on the housing shortage in Eindhoven and the surrounding area. They weave together current problems and possible solutions with stories about how the housing shortage was combated in the past. From a paean to the Vinex district and the unorthodox measures during reconstruction to fully 3D printed houses.

When it comes to monument conservation, people often think of old buildings. But there is also such a thing as 'monumental green': landscapes equally deserve to be protected, especially now that our familiar environment is subject to rapid changes. It is on the Twickel estate where Maarten and Vincent van Rossem reflect on the concept of 'green heritage'. Emma is riding a horse.

The sustainable alternative to the car and plane has an image problem. Maarten and Vincent van Rossem take the train in the Utrecht region, once the symbol of progress. With sorrow they take note of the renovated Utrecht station area and learn a surprising lesson: more trains on less track. Emma missed the train, again.

The long-cherished wish of Maarten and Vincent van Rossem is coming true: a visit to cultural Kleve, where Maarten's favorite painter B.C. Koekkoek was active. The small German town turns out to have a surprisingly large range of art. Emma is giving a try at modelling.
