Yoon-ja gets caught snooping around Jin-tae's house by Ma-ri, and Ma-ri's obsession with Hyun-sung's unborn baby grows more significant. Meanwhile, a producer shows interest in Do-young's trot music video that Doo-ri uploaded to the Internet that became viral.

U-ri breaks up with Su-ji to remain as brother and sister, and Sun-young feels bad as she believes it's all her fault. Meanwhile, Jin-tae makes a reservation at The Courtyard House and invites Ma-ri for dinner, but Ma-ri cannot stand it as she sees Sun-young.

U-ri witnesses Ma-ri treating Sun-young rudely and confronts her in anger. This causes Ma-ri to feel deeply disappointed in Jin-tae for not supporting her. Meanwhile, Jang-soo plans to invest all his savings in Do-young's potential as a superstar, and Do-young confesses his feelings to Doo-ri. Su-ji expresses frustration to U-ri for treating her like a little sister so naturally, as if their romantic relationship meant nothing.

Ma-ri weeps as she holds a photo of Hyun-woo, caught in her sorrowful moment by Na-young. Hyun-sung later confides in Na-young about his older brother who disappeared thirty years ago. Yoon-ja faces the challenge of testifying in court to secure Su-ji's legal status as Sun-young’s child. Jin-tae shares with Sun-young the pain that Ma-ri has been experiencing. Meanwhile, Doo-ri once more plays a crucial role in assisting Do-young.

Jin-tae reveals his pain to Sun-young. Ma-ri sees them together and explodes in anger. After learning U-ri broke up with her to allow her to fulfill her wish of becoming Sunyoung's legal daughter, Su-ji falls into deep thought. Meanwhile, Doyoung gets his first offer for a gig as a trot artist.

Jin-tae insists they clean Hyun-woo's room, but Ma-ri refuses with the hope of finding him. The conflict between them still resides. Do-young finishes his first gig successfully, and Jang-soo smiles after seeing Doo-ri's confidence in Do-young. Su-ji pretends not to have heard U-ri's confession last night and acts like a typical younger sister. Meanwhile, Hyun-sung visits Na-young's parents after marrying Na-young.

Su-ji visits Jang-soo's house and sees Hyun-sung and Na-young. Sun-young's heart aches when she sees Su-ji and U-ri act like siblings. Hyun Sung questions Na-young about why she lied about not knowing Sun-young, and Ma-ri rediscovers her hopes of finding her lost son after speaking with Sun-young. Meanwhile, Jin-tae visits Haedeul Convalescent Hospital.

Jin-tae is reviewing a patient chart at a convalescent hospital, while Ma-ri meets with a detective to request a reinvestigation into Hyun-woo’s case. Do-young receives a call from a renowned songwriter. Meanwhile, Su-ji and U-ri spend the entire night talking through a paper phone that Ah-ra created. Hyun-sung invites U-ri for a drink to apologize, but after drinking too much, U-ri ends up taking him home.

While escorting the intoxicated Hyun-sung home, U-ri feels a sense of recognition as he glimpses into a room on the second floor of Hyun-sung's house. Jin-tae reflects on uneasy memories involving his father-in-law. Yoon-ja discovers that there is a missing son in Na-young's in-law family. Su-ji and U-ri conceal their true feelings for each other. Meanwhile, Do-young heads to meet a renowned songwriter.

Jin-tae takes Na-young shopping and urges her to persuade Ma-ri to turn Hyun-woo's old room into a nursery. After shopping with Jin-tae, Na-young visits Haedeul Hospital where she runs into Su-ji and confronts her about her feelings for U-ri. Meanwhile, Bok-sun visits Sun-young, her ex-daughter-in-law, to apologize, and the Patient Day event takes place at Haedeul Hospital.

Su-ji is now legally Sun-young's daughter, but Sun-young has mixed feelings about it. At the Patient Day event, Ma-ri spots a familiar-looking toy, which triggers the memories of the day Hyun-woo went missing. After the event, U-ri finally meets Doo-ri's boyfriend, Do-young, and Jin-tae tries to track down Jung Soon-jung's son.

Ma-ri visits Sun-young and asks her how she came to adopt U-ri. At home, Hyun-sung takes Na-young's side when Ma-ri lashes out at her for wanting to turn Hyun-woo's old room into a nursery. Yoon-ja makes a big mistake at her new job while Su-ji and U-ri begin to regret their decision to remain siblings.

Su-ji struggles to hold back her feelings for U-ri while Ma-ri can't stop thinking about how U-ri was adopted. Ma-ri invites U-ri and Su-ji over for dinner, and Na-young eavesdrops on Jin-tae's phone conversation. Meanwhile, Do-young invites Doo-ri over to meet his family for the first time, and Jin-tae sees U-ri holding a familiar-looking toy.

Jin-tae visits Sun-young upon seeing U-ri's childhood toy while U-ri heads over to Ma-ri's home for dinner. After U-ri's visit, Na-young's sneaking suspicion grows, and Su-ji finds out that Hyun-sung had a brother. The next day, U-ri wakes up from a strange dream feeling sad and confused.

Na-young is curious as to why Jin-tae and Ma-ri are looking for the same person. While tracking down Jung Soon-jung, Ma-ri learns that Jin-tae was also requesting to view Haedeul Convalescent Hospital's patient records from 1998. Meanwhile, at Haedeul Hospital, Jin-tae surprises U-ri with an unexpected offer.

It's obvious to Su-ji's co-workers that she deeply cares for U-ri. Jin-tae goes ahead and cleans out Hyun-woo's room without telling Ma-ri, and Jang-soo finds out that Woo-chang isn't, in fact, Sun-young's husband. Meanwhile, Sun-young and U-ri visit Jung Soon-jung's columbarium niche together where Sun-young makes a shocking announcement.

Sun-young's sudden announcement leaves U-ri shocked and confused, but he can't bring himself to tell Su-ji about it. Ma-ri gets a call from Detective Jang while Hyun-sung learns that Ma-ri suspects U-ri might be Hyun-woo. Meanwhile, Doo-ri runs into someone she absolutely despises while leaving Do-young's place.

Na-young sees the DNA test report in Jin-tae's study and is told to keep it to herself. Ma-ri visits Sun-young to ask about Jung Soon-jung, and Sun-young tells her Jung Soon-jung is U-ri's biological mother. Jin-tae walks into the restaurant when Ma-ri is about to leave, and Su-ji runs to the bus terminal upon hearing that U-ri has left.

U-ri finally makes up his mind and announces to the family that he and Su-ji are now officially a couple. At work, U-ri tells Jin-tae that he must decline the promotion while Ma-ri learns about the offer and grows suspicious of Jin-tae's true intentions behind it. Meanwhile, Sun-young consults Su-ji after Ma-ri's visit, and Yoon-ja visits Na-young to check in on her.

Jin-tae finds out that Ma-ri has reached out to Sun-young for help to order a DNA test, and Yoon-ja overhears a shocking conversation while hiding in Na-young's room. Su-ji asks to see Hyun-woo's room while visiting Ma-ri with U-ri and learns that the room has been emptied out. Meanwhile, Ma-ri's growing obsession with U-ri makes Hyun-sung anxious.

Na-young finally gathers enough clues about the situation to have leverage over Jin-tae, but Hyun-sung begins to suspect that she and Jin-tae might be hiding something from him. Doo-ri finds out that Do-young is Na-young's brother and breaks up with him, while Su-ji is left puzzled by how U-ri supposedly had a congenital heart condition.

Ma-ri visits Sun-young to tell her about the test results and hears that Jin-tae was the one who persuaded Sun-young to help her order the DNA test. Ma-ri has a sudden dizzy spell in front of U-ri while leaving The Courtyard House, and U-ri gets strange flashbacks while looking after her. Meanwhile, Hyun-sung's growing suspicion leads him to Jin-tae's study.

Hyun-sung finds out what Jin-tae and Na-young have been hiding from him. Feeling deeply betrayed, he tells Na-young to move out and tries to persuade Jin-tae to tell Ma-ri everything. U-ri and Sun-young reminisce about their memories together at U-ri's old school after filing for dissolution of adoption, and Hyun-sung visits U-ri.

Su-ji and U-ri's colleagues at Haedeul Hospital find out that they're back together. Ma-ri calls Detective Jang to tell him that she is giving up on the search, but he tells her that he has found a picture of Jung Soon-jung and her son. Hyun-sung urges Jin-tae to tell Ma-ri the truth while Na-young threatens Jin-tae once again. Meanwhile, Do-young follows Doo-ri to her blind date.

U-ri is confused and distraught after finding out that Jung Soon-jung is not his mother, and Su-ji suggests that he register his DNA to find his real mom. Meanwhile, Yoon-ja finds out that U-ri is, in fact, Hyun-sung's brother, and Na-young comes home as per Hyun-sung's request only to find out that he is planning to tell his mother the truth.

While visiting Ma-ri to tell her that the boy in the photo she sent isn't U-ri, Sun-young hears that Soon-jung's cousin is looking for Kim U-ri. Sensing that Jin-tae is hiding something, Hyun-sung presses him for the whole truth, and Jin-tae confesses his secret to him. Meanwhile, Sun-young runs into Yoon-ja again while leaving Ma-ri's house.

Hyun-sung catches Na-young going through his phone and is torn, knowing that both she and Jin-tae want the truth to remain buried. While visiting Holy Mother Hope House with U-ri, Su-ji happens to read a poem U-ri wrote when he was nine. Meanwhile, Sun-young is confused as to why Detective Jang gave her Jin-tae's number and decides to call the owner of Port Restaurant.

Yoon-ja sees Do-young texting Doo-ri and thinks that he has a new girlfriend. Jang-soo visits Sun-young to tell her the truth but gets into an argument with Woo-chang. After Jang-soo leaves, Sun-young consults Woo-chang on what to do with the situation involving Jin-tae, and he suggests she tell Ma-ri that Jin-tae was the man known as Jung Soon-jung's cousin.

U-ri finds out that Ma-ri had done a DNA test with his sample and that everyone else knew about it. Feeling upset and confused, he has drinks with Hyun-sung who came to The Courtyard House hoping to tell U-ri the truth. Hyun-sung sees a picture of U-ri and Jung Soon-jung and feels immense guilt. Meanwhile, U-ri becomes convinced that the dream is part of his forgotten memories that are resurfacing.

Jin-tae tells Ma-ri that U-ri is, in fact, her son Hyun-woo. Together, they visit U-ri at The Courtyard House to tell him that he is Hyun-woo. Meanwhile, Na-young and Hyun-sung get into another argument, which leaves Na-young crying. Shaken up, Na-young calls and tells Yoon-ja that her mother-in-law has found out the truth and that it's all over now.
