Putkinotko-näytelmä kertoo yhden päivän tapahtumista Juutas Käkriäisen suurperheen elämässä. Rosinalla riittää puuhaa aamusta asti, muu perhe haluaisi vain laiskotella. Huutia tulee ja huutoa piisaa. Rosina on keksinyt keinon leivän leventämiseksi. Isäntä Juutas on vastahakoinen, mutta Rosinan veli suostuu pohtimaan ehdotusta. Käkriäisten vuokraisäntä, kirjakauppias Muttinen tulee myös kesänviettoon Putkinotkoon. Onko hän tyytyväinen tilanhoitoon?
