Carlo Lucarelli retraces some of the most significant Italian true crime cases spanning from the 1970s to the early 2000s. In Rome, the murder of Antonella Di Veroli, found lifeless inside the wardrobe of her home; in Naples, the killing of Anna Parlato Grimaldi, the Posillipo mystery that has remained unanswered for forty years.

In Modena, ten young women were killed in less than twelve years, raising the hypothesis of a serial killer; in Udine, there were at least fourteen victims, under the shadow of the so-called "Surgeon," a killer who was never identified.

In Rome, the murder of Simonetta Cesaroni, killed on August 7, 1990 in an office on via Poma: a crime still shrouded in questions and without a culprit.

In Rome, the rise of the Marseillais clan, the gang that established itself in the 1970s through drug trafficking and kidnappings; the story of Tony Chichiarelli, the great counterfeiter linked to the underworld and to the darkest mysteries of Italian history.

In Bologna, the murder of Francesca Alinovi, a young art critic and lecturer at DAMS; in the woods of Farneto, the mystery of Angelo Fabbri, a university student killed in 1982.
