The separation between Imma and Pietro goes on but Tataranni suffers from loneliness and distance from her daughter Valentina. In the Public Prosecutor's Office, the new prosecutor, Altiero Galliano, investigates two complex cases, while Pietro receives a fundamental job offer and Imma, in the meantime, tries to get back into the game by following the English lessons of the charming Mike.

Pietro enthusiastically starts his new job at First Energy, while Imma investigates the murder of a retired professor, a case linked to secrets from the past. Between the sale of the house, Valentina's fragility and the confidences with Mike during English lessons, her life remains in precarious balance.

During a lunch in Bandusia, Imma clashes with the founder Piacentini but is called back to a new case: the lawyer Pignatelli was found dead in mysterious circumstances. Between tensions with Pietro, pressures at work and the growing complicity with Mike, Imma's personal balance falters.

The discovery of a body in the Palombaro of Matera leads Imma between the world of bakers and the reality of prison, between silences and hidden truths. Meanwhile, the family crisis explodes: Valentina leaves home, Pietro makes a decision about work and, at the deed, unexpected emotions resurface between him and Imma.
