He not only covers what kind of media to use and what to expect when you get the parts back, but also when it’s reasonable to re-use the original parts and when it’s a good idea to replace them. After that he dives into a “simple” restoration project on some headlight buckets to illustrate how much time it actually takes to restore things properly, and why your project seems to get bigger instead of smaller! This time on GEARZ, Stacey rolls in a 1949 Dodge Power Wagon to showcase the history that led to the development of these amazing trucks and a company that specializes in restoration parts for them. After that, Stacey shows why it’s a good idea to upgrade the electrical and fuel systems on a vintage vehicle to make it more reliable on today’s roads. This time on GEARZ, Stacey recognizes the 250th anniversary of our Nation with a trip to the National Museum of Military Vehicles in Dubois, Wyoming! He unwraps the incredible story of how one man’s desire to own a tank turned into the largest privately owned military collection in the world. We not only go through the history these vehicles represent, but also the nuts and bolts of what made military technology and advancements so important. This time on GEARZ, Stacey addresses one of the biggest decisions you’ll face on a project: buy a crate engine or build your own? Well, if you want something in-the-box, a crate engine is great, but if you want out-of-the-box, you’ll need to build your own, and Stacey shows you what is involved in doing that.
