When Ling Xi tries to deliver High Immortal Liu Yun's medicine, she trespasses the Heavenly Palace and accidentally breaks Tuntian Beast's seal. As Ling Xi runs away from the heavenly guards, she enters the Ice Palace in Changsheng Ocean and revives War God Jiu Chen. As Ling Xi's father, Le Bo, tries to get her out of trouble, Jiu Chen makes a request.

Ling Xi joins Shi San in Fuyun Hall as one of Jiu Chen's attendants. Ling Xi is thrilled to be the fated one that revived Jiu Chen, but Jiu Chen has his doubts. Wary that Ling Xi might be from the Demon Tribe, Jiu Chen commands Shi San to keep a close eye on Ling Xi. However, Jiu Chen is not the only one who suspects Ling Xi.

With Jiu Chen's return, Lord Tian Lei intends to return the War God Seal to him, but he has an ulterior motive behind it. When Lord Tian Lei goes to Fuyun Palace and pushes Jiu Chen to open up a battle report, Jiu Chen does the unthinkable. Meanwhile, Ling Xi passes out after touching the totem of the Lieyi Tribe which prompts Le Bo to travel to Fuyun Palace to see her.

As Jiu Chen burns the battle report, he is relieved of his duty as War God and is on house arrest. Jiu Chen doesn't want to state his reason for not revealing what happened in Mount Youdu back then, including who he is trying to protect. Meanwhile, Royal Advisor confirms that Yuan Du is still alive.

Jiu Chen sneaks out of the Heavenly Palace in his spirit form to find out about the Demon King. Upon his return, he runs into Ling Xi who is cornered by Zi Guang. Her bag is rummaged and the medical items in it are scattered. When Ling Xi returns to Fuyun Palace, she asks Jiu Chen to allow her to renovate her room into a dispensary for her to practice medicine.

Ling Xi searches for Shuiyue Vessel to find out what happened at Mount Youdu. When Yuan Tong learns that Ling Xi has recovered the battle report, she demands her to give it to her and ends up pushing Ling Xi into Xixian Pond. With Madam Yuan demanding an explanation for Yuan Zheng's death, Qing Yao opens the battle report and reveals what actually went down on Mount Youdu.

The truth about the battle report is finally revealed. Because of this, the Yuan clan might be punished severely to the point of wiping out the entire clan and being removed from the Book of Celestial Beings. Meanwhile, Supreme Lord also punishes Yuan Tong for hurting Ling Xi.

Jiu Chen pleads for mercy on behalf of the Yuan clan and the Heavenly Emperor gives in. Jiu Chen has been sentenced to seven strikes of Thunder Punishment. The War God is now rendered a mortal, so his closest friends and Ling Xi are keeping a watchful eye out for him.

Yun Feng tries his absolute best to court Qing Yao. Ling Xi asks Jiu Chen for help because she can't remove Tianheng Celestial Sand, prompting Jiu Chen to inform Immortal of the South Pole about his missing treasure. Qin Yuan leaves the South Pole Continent to help his adoptive father, Zhong Hao, in seeking revenge.

Qin Yuan visits Jiu Chen at Fuyun Palace to retrieve Shuiyue Vessel, but to no avail. When Jiu Chen senses something amiss with Qin Yuan, he tells Shi San to tail him. After Jiu Chen learns that Zhong Hao is still alive, he decides to take Ling Xi to the Mortal Realm to see if Ling Xi has any connection with the demons.

Jiu Chen goes to the Mortal Realm with Ling Xi and visits the Mountain Spirit Tribe. Royal Advisor then meets Ling Xi and suspects certain things. Jiu Chen also brings Ling Xi to Mount Youdu where demonic energy is accumulated.

Zhong Hao seeks out the Demon King and he is given the task to find all 50,000-year-old female immortals. As more girls disappear from the Heaven Realm, Jiu Chen sends his men to look into it. Kai Yang notices a demonic energy going northwest and Jiu Chen hurries over.

While Ling Xi tries to save Tuntian Beast, she encounters Zhong Hao and his underling. Tuntian Beast blocks a slash of Demon Blade for Ling Xi and perishes, thereby restoring the Demon Blade. Meanwhile, Qing Yao finds out the truth about Ling Xi from Le Bo.

While the Queen Mother of the West trespasses on Congji Canyon to capture Ling Xi, Jiu Chen visits the Heavenly Emperor to tell his intention of giving up his post as the War God. Alerted by the trespassing, Jiu Chen rushes back to Ling Xi's rescue. Later on, Ling Xi stands trial at Ziyun Podium to find out if she has any demonic energy.

Jiu Chen kicks Shi San and Hua Yan out of the Fuyun Palace, leaving only him and Ling Xi in there. Their relationship is making progress. Meanwhile, the result of Immortal Lord Pu Hua's investigation regarding Ling Xi is out.

Zhong Hao shows up in Peach Blossoms Forest to capture Ling Xi. A devastated Ling Xi is taken to the Heavenly Palace after Yuan Tong reports her to the Heavenly Emperor. Pu Hua reexamines Ling Xi again and her demonic energy is exposed.

All three immortals from Peach Blossoms Forest come together to rescue Ling Xi. Meanwhile, the Heavenly Supreme Lord foretells that Jiu Chen can only choose between saving Ling Xi or saving the world, but Jiu Chen chooses to pave his own path. As the seed of evil grows within Yuan Tong, she chases after the fleeing criminal, Ling Xi.

Jiu Chen takes Ling Xi to the Demon Prison Tower as it's the most heavily-guarded place in the Six Realms that can keep her safe from the Demon Tribe. Meanwhile, Yun Feng is vouching for Qing Yao and keeping her safe while he investigates the case of Immortality Descension. Jiu Chen does the unthinkable, yet again, when he digs out the Nuwa Stone Heart in exchange for the Shennong Cauldron.

Heavenly Emperor wants to delay Ling Xi's interrogation, but Lord Tian Lei wants to execute her quickly. This happens to fit Jiu Chen's plan for Ling Xi, so he agrees, to Ling Xi's surprise. Ling Xi is utterly heartbroken and doesn't hear Jiu Chen's comforting words afterward since she has lost her hearing. Meanwhile, Mountain Spirit Tribe's Royal Leader finally discovers that her daughter is Ling Xi and tries to save her from execution.

Jiu Chen manages to rebuild Ling Xi with her last bit of spirit. Si Ming and Jiu Chen send Ling Xi to the Mortal Realm for her three trials so that she can rid herself of the demonic energy. Born as an orphan, Ling Xi is adopted by Lin Shao Hai because his wife is unable to bear a child. However, Ling Xi soon faces her first hurdle when Madam Lin finds out about her hearing disability.

After Jiu Chen accidentally razes Mount Zhuwu to the grounds, Lord Tian Lei is suspicious that something is up. Alarmed by the incident, Yun Feng swears that he'll take away Shennong Cauldron if Jiu Chen's life is in danger. In the Forbidden Area, Jing Xiu recalls the day he betrayed his father and clan and warns Wu of the incoming attack from Zhong Hao.

As Jing Xiu is put behind bars, Zhong Hao leads the Demon Army to attack the Mountain Spirit Tribe. Meanwhile, Yuan Tong, locked up in the Demon Prison Tower, plans to escape. In the Mortal Realm, Lin Mo is often bullied by her younger sister, Lin Zhan. However, she is loved by her father, and Jiu Chen visits her in spirit from time to time.

Ling Xi grows up as Lin Mo and she takes a keen interest in medicine. Her father, Lin Shao Hai, treats her kindly. When an unlikely marriage proposal is made to Lin Mo, Shao Hai happily accepts it on her behalf. Meanwhile, Lin Mo runs into Jiu Chen who is in the disguise of Song Zi Yu, her fiancé.

As Lin Mo's marriage approaches, Lin Zhan gives her a hard time due to her growing jealousy. Despite that, Jiu Chen protects her and tries to make her happy secretly. Meanwhile, Qing Yao bumps into a familiar face when a sudden rain forces her to take cover. Si Ming informs Jiu Chen that Ling Xi will soon face her trial in the Mortal Realm.

When it's time for Lin Mo to go through her trial in the Mortal Realm, Jiu Chen assures her that everything will be fine after that. Learning that the government is after Lin Mo, Shao Hai keeps her hidden away. But due to enormous pressure from his family, Shao Hai has to decide between Lin Mo and his family.

Lin Mo survives from being drowned in the lake and returns to the Lin family. Then she finds out that she is actually an adopted child. Her destiny will depend on how she reacts to the situation.

Lin Mo travels alone and runs into Jing Xiu, who has become blind. Unknowingly, she helps him time after time. Meanwhile, Jiu Chen succeeds in planting the five senses in a chosen house. The peach blossom tree has grown and Si Ming has to show Lin Mo the way there.

In the Mortal Realm, Lin Mo finds comfort in Jing Xiu, who is blind. She also shares the ripe peaches with Physician Sun and learns how to make wine. In Heavenly Palace, Cheng Yan fights against Yuan Tong, and both get seriously injured. Lord Tian Lei insists on entering Demon Prison Tower, but Jiu Chen comes back in time to stop him.

While Lin Mo is out looking for a job, she runs into Mrs. Guan who helps her get a job with Physician Sun. On her way home, Lin Mo comes across Five Bowls and brings it home with her. Jiu Chen's master tells him that if Lin Mo fails to pass her trials in the Mortal Realm, he will retrieve the Shennong Cauldron in exchange for Jiu Chen's Nuwa Stone Heart.

Lin Mo helps Jing Xiu remove the White Bone Nails from his body. Only someone from the Phoenix Tribe should be able to remove them, so Jing Xiu starts to become suspicious. Meanwhile, Mrs. Guan tricks Lin Mo into letting her introduce a man to her.

Mrs. Guan is concerned about Lin Mo, so she decides to introduce her to a teacher in a private school. Jing Xiu decides to meet Mr. Shen after hearing about the blind date and the brief meeting makes him realize that he is actually in love with Lin Mo. After drinking the peach wine, Jing Xiu gets his eyesight back suddenly.

In the Heavenly Palace, Heavenly Emperor's reminder prompts Tian Lei to reassign Yuan Tong to Mount Youdu. In the Mortal Realm, Lin Mo eats the magical peach and gains back her hearing. With the arrival of Lin Mo's fiancé, Jiu Chen in disguise, Jing Xiu's attempts in wooing Lin Mo fail miserably.

Caught between Jiu Chen and Jing Xiu, Lin Mo decides to send Jiu Chen away and tells him that she's enjoying her current life. While Qing Yao comes up with new medicine, Yu Li spends a lot of time around Yun Feng. Seeing this, the Medicine mistakenly believes that she is interested in Yun Feng and seeks the Heavenly Emperor's blessings for their marriage.

Lin Mo sends both Jing Xiu and Jiu Chen away. However, because of Yun Feng's advice, Jiu Chen insists on staying by Lin Mo's side and Jing Xiu is doing the same. Meanwhile, Zhong Hao decides to kill Princess Bao Qing since she's useless to him.

Jiu Chen is still worried after Jing Xiu leaves. He informs Yun Feng of his suspicions that there's trouble brewing in Mountain Spirit Tribe. Meanwhile, Taowu Beast is on the run and escapes to Mount Youdu. Yun Feng is eager to take down Taowu Beast in hopes of requesting Heavenly Emperor to withdraw the marriage arrangement between him and Yu Li.

Jing Xiu visits Bao Qing and promises to retrieve Xuling Pill from Tianxi Palace to save her from the claws of death. A few thugs capture Lin Mo after witnessing her beauty at Sun's Clinic. Despite losing Nuwa Stone Heart and knowing the severity of using magic against mortals, Jiu Chen rushes to rescue the damsel in distress.

Immortal Lord Sang Nan has not succeeded in his love trial for over 50,000 years, so Si Ming goes to Qing Yao and asks for a token from her past life to help him. At the same time, Si Ming is worried about how Yun Feng will react if he finds out about it. Meanwhile, Demon King orders Zhong Hao to step up the hunt for Lin Mo.

Yun Feng has been preparing to confess to Qing Yao about his feelings, but Immortal Lord Sang Nan has returned. While Yun Feng has a setback in his romance, Jiu Chen is also confronted by Lin Mo after Butler Song exposes him. Now that Lin Mo knows Jiu Chen isn't Young Master Song, Jiu Chen is bombarded by her endless questions about his identity.

After accompanying Lin Mo back to her family, Jiu Chen meets Lin Mo's father and promises to take good care of her. In Peach Blossoms Forest, Qing Yao finally reciprocates Yun Feng's feelings after clearing things up with Sang Nan. Cheng Yan visits Lin Mo but leaves her confused as he calls her Ling Xi. Knowing Lin Mo is about to face her last trial, Jiu Chen tells her to lead a good life.

After Jiu Chen leaves without saying goodbye, Lin Mo decides to search for him. Seeing Lin Mo suffering in the Mortal Realm, Jiu Chen rushes to her side but decides not to interfere with her trials. Jing Xiu tries to take Lin Mo away and reveals that Jiu Chen is only there because of Ling Xi. When Lin Mo passes out, Jing Xiu uses his Life Pearl to keep her alive.

Qin Yuan tries to convince Zhong Hao to reconsider his decision in helping Demon King return and bringing doom upon the world. Heavenly Supreme Lord won't allow Jiu Chen to help Ling Xi, but tells Yun Feng to watch over Mount Youdu to prevent her from falling into Demon King's hands. Just as Yun Feng and Qing Yao are getting closer, Yuan Tong uses the Xingshen Pill to get the heavenly troops in Mount Youdu killed and frames it on Qing Yao.

Although Yuan Tong is the real culprit behind Qing Yao's wrongdoings, there is no way to prove it. A devastated Yun Feng steps in and takes the blame for Qing Yao. Adding to the ongoing mess in the Heaven Tribe, Ling Yue is forced to kill herself to prevent Fuling Canyon from opening. In the Mortal Realm, Jing Xiu twists the truth to his advantage to drive a wedge between Lin Mo and Jiu Chen.

As Zhong Hao tries to open Fuling Canyon and the Netherworld Gate, Ling Yue and Yuan Du stop him. At the same time, Jing Xiu arrives with his men and kills Zhong Hao and Yuan Du. In the Mortal Realm, during Yuan Tong's search for the thief of Heart-Piercing Nail, she bumps into Lin Mo and tries to kill her. As Lin Mo is cornered by Yuan Tong and Lord Tian Lei, Jiu Chen arrives in time and questions her survival.

Feeling heartbroken that the one Jiu Chen is waiting for is Ling Xi, Lin Mo gives the Life Pearl. As her body fades away, Demon King explodes and his spirit enters Yuan Tong's body. Ling Xi returns as a high god after passing three tribulations. While confronting Lord Tian Lei, she also reveals the real culprit behind the death of the heavenly soldiers on Mount Youdu.

After Ling Xi returns from the Mortal Realm, she goes to Mountain Spirit Tribe to spend time with her mother, who is still in a coma. For Ling Xi's sake, Jing Xiu doesn't want to kill her, but instead, he finds a way to make her stay asleep. Meanwhile, Yuan Tong still won't give up on trying to harm Ling Xi.

Ling Xi decides to visit her mother in the Mountain Spirit Tribe, but her new identity as the tribe's rightful princess is causing a stir. Bao Qing is jealous and angry at the friendship between Ling Xi and Jing Xiu. As Ling Yue fails to recover, Ling Xi decides to ask Qing Yao for help. Together, they realize that someone has been plotting to keep Ling Yue in a coma forever.

Jiu Chen and Shi San visit Ling Xi at Tianxi Palace, but Ling Xi runs away to Peach Blossoms Forest. When Ling Xi finally understands and returns, they have returned to the Heavenly Palace because of Hua Yan. Hua Yan is exiled to the Mountain Spirit Tribe's Land of Nowhere on the charge of stealing Heart-Piercing Nail. After being rescued by Ling Xi, Hua Yan lays stunned when she bumps into her old acquaintance in Tianxi Palace.

Yuan Tong is stripped of her immortality and exiled to a desert. As she passes out, a demon appears in her dream telling her to look for a new host to be the new Demon King. Jiu Chen quietly goes to see Ling Xi and they finally reconcile. Meanwhile, Jing Xiu tells his subordinates to kill Ling Yue. Bao Qing overhears it and chooses to keep mum about it.

Jing Xiu kills Ling Yue and Ling Xi is suspicious of her death. However, she doesn't want to suspect Jing Xiu because of the kindness he has shown her in Mortal Realm and can't find any evidence against him either. Meanwhile, everyone is talking about who will succeed the Royal Leader's throne after her death and people are supporting different candidates.

After Ling Yue's death, the smaller tribes within the Mountain Spirit Realm are restless. As the last descendant of the Phoenix Tribe, Ling Xi, succeeds the throne as Jing Xiu suggests. Despite being reluctant to take the throne, Ling Xi realizes that her new title will give her the power to look into her mother's suspicious death.

Jiu Chen exposes Jing Xiu for his evil deeds, forcing Jing Xiu to flee Tianxi Palace. In the Land of Nowhere, Yuan Tong, who has turned into a demon, convinces Jing Xiu to become the new Demon King. Sensing the rise of demonic energy at Mount Youdu, Ling Xi goes to investigate and bumps into Heavenly Supreme Lord. Coincidentally, Jiu Chen arrives and asks Heavenly Supreme Lord's blessing for his marriage with Ling Xi.

After spending the night at Congji Canyon, Jiu Chen gives Ling Xi a marriage contract and Jiu Chen starts planning their wedding. When Jiu Chen finds out that his master has been meeting Heavenly Emperor, he investigates Fuling Canyon and discovers strong demonic energy. Jiu Chen convinces Heavenly Emperor to release Yun Feng, planning to protect the Six Realms and Ling Xi.

Yun Feng's stone statue breaks, and everyone thinks that he's dead, leaving Qing Yao devastated. Jiu Chen goes to Fuling Canyon to suppress the demons without Ling Xi's knowledge. When Jiu Chen tells Ling Xi that he decides to separate, she does not accept it as she suspects that he is hiding something from her.

When Ling Xi finds out that Jiu Chen is in Fuling Canyon, she joins him to seal the Netherworld Gate. However, Ling Xi is forced to leave Jiu Chen behind to seal the gate. Three hundred years later, Ling Xi takes her daughter to Shi San's Transformation Rite. Upon returning home to Congji Continent, a surprise awaits them.
