Mi Mi is moved by the birthday table Soon Deok prepares and gives thanks for the ordinary peace she enjoys. Yet as she settles into that modest happiness, Gang Nam, Dae Chi, and Da Mi each face circumstances that cause their daily routines to slip off course. A peaceful birthday becomes the first sign that something is shifting.

Jin Hee starts to feel anxious after receiving a certain text message. While Da Mi steps away from the store for a moment, Jin Hee causes a scene. Witnessing the chaos, Da Mi confronts Jin Hee, just as Do Yun arrives to meet Jin Hee. Later, Da Mi visits a bakery to buy a birthday cake for her mother, where she runs into Do Yun again, sparking a tense standoff between the two.

Mi Mi recalls her poignant first encounter with young Da Mi, who saved her when she had fallen into despair. The next day, she carefully prepares side dishes and heads to her eldest son Gang Nam's home, only to find the house empty. When a neighbour tells her Gang Nam's family moved away without a word, Mi Mi tries to brush off her hurt, telling herself they must have been busy.

Worn down by her aunt's relentless demands, Jin Hee reluctantly transfers a large sum of money to her. Meanwhile, Do Yun visits the department store on an errand for Jin Hee, only for Da Mi to mistake him for a pervert when a piece of sexy lingerie falls out of his jacket. Later, Da Mi meets Mi Seon, who shocks her with something unfathomable.

Da Mi is stunned when Mi Seon reveals that she and Gang Nam have divorced after his reckless generosity and co-signing left the family broke. When Gang Nam returns home with Su Ah, Mi Mi explodes at him for losing everything and driving Mi Seon away. Meanwhile, trouble closes in on Dae Chi as Mi Mi discovers seizure notices at his home.

Seung Yun's accident trauma surges without warning, and Da Mi is the one who calms him before guiding him back to his suite. Meanwhile, Dae Chi's enormous debt is finally exposed to Mi Mi, whose fury sends her racing after him with a toilet brush. There is nowhere left to hide from what hurts the most.

Mi Mi fakes a fall to stop the fleeing Dae Chi, then drags him home before he can slip away again. At K Department Store, Da Mi unexpectedly reunites with Seung Yun as he comes to buy a scarf for his grandmother. Meanwhile, Do Yun learns Se Na made him look like a pervert, and he heads straight for her. Now, Se Na has some explaining to do.

Do Yun visits Da Mi with Se Na and clears up the misunderstanding. Seung Yun finally returns to his grandmother Geum Soon's home, where they share an emotional reunion, but seeing signs of her worsening dementia weighs heavily on him. Meanwhile, Da Mi learns that Se Na designs underwear and reveals that she, too, dreams of becoming a fashion designer.

Mi Mi's children's endless troubles wear her down. Hoping to cheer her up, Da Mi buys her a designer scarf, but Mi Mi lashes out instead. Meanwhile, Gang Nam's desperate request for some money ends in a bitter clash with Dae Chi, and Soon Deok senses that something is wrong with him. Elsewhere, Seung Yun's return brings the family together for an uneasy dinner.

Soon Deok’s unexpected remarks leave Mi Mi’s family sweating bullets. With her children causing one problem after another, from Gang Nam’s divorce to Dae Chi’s dismissal from a major corporation over debt issues, Soon Deok finally issues a stern warning to her children. Meanwhile, tensions between Geum Soon and Jin Hee continue to escalate. Geum Soon asks Mrs. Anseong to keep a close eye on Jin Hee’s every move.

Dae Chi sets his sights on the money Mi Mi has saved for Da Mi as he scrambles to pay off his debts, putting family trust on the line. Soon Deok prepares a tense game of Yut to confront him, while Seung Yun spots Da Mi dropping her belongings as she rushes past. One desperate choice could bring everything into the open.

Mi Mi presses the newly divorced Mi Seon for answers, but her silence only deepens Mi Mi's heartbreak. Kang Gang Nam grows suspicious of why Mrs. Choi has gathered the family for a game of Yut, while Jeon Jin Hee spots Mrs. Anseong outside Madam Chairwoman's room and senses that something is wrong. The unease is only beginning.

Furious over the trouble Gang Nam and Dae Chi have caused, Mi Mi anxiously watches Soon Deok's reaction. With the family gathered for a game of yut, Soon Deok wins and presses Dae Chi to confess what he's hiding. Drunk and overwhelmed, Mi Mi blurts out the enormous debt Dae Chi has incurred, then collapses, leaving the family stunned.

Forced to move into a semi-basement, Ji Young breaks down and grabs Hak Sung by the collar. Da Mi mistakenly suspects Seung Yun of stealing her tablet after he picks up her dropped belongings. Meanwhile, Mi Mi cautiously asks Da Mi about her savings, hoping to find a way to pay off Dae Chi's crushing debt.

After Da Mi helps Do Yun navigate an awkward refund at the department store, he finds himself increasingly drawn to her. Meanwhile, Da Mi is hurt to learn that Mi Mi asked about her savings to help settle Dae Chi's enormous debt. As tensions rise at home, Dae Chi is accused of embezzlement linked to a shell company and suspended from work, leaving his future hanging in the balance.

Da Mi tracks down Seung Yun to reclaim her tablet, only to receive a harsh critique of her fashion designs and a sudden ultimatum. Meanwhile, Madam Chairwoman fiercely hides a mysterious bag from her prying family, leaving In Sung and Jin Hee deeply unnerved. As old memories collide with new suspicions, no one can predict what secrets will unravel next.

Geum Soon confides her growing suspicions about the accident that changed Seung Yun's life, unable to shake the feeling that something about the past remains unresolved. Across from Mi Mi's Chicken Soup, Ji Young lands a job at a clinic only to be gripped by unease. Bolstered by In Sung on his first day at work, Seung Yun faces a quiet battle of nerves with Jin Hee, and every word carries weight.

Da Mi's heart flutters unexpectedly when she and Seung Yun tumble onto a pile of clothes together. Disheartened by his unsuccessful job search, Gang Nam rejects Mi Seon's advice to help out at the family restaurant. Meanwhile, Se Na sets out to track down Dae Chi and collect the money he owes her.

The sight of cotton candy stirs painful childhood memories for Da Mi. Jin Hee must postpone her meeting after her heel snaps, leaving her injured. Meanwhile, Hak Sung visits the clinic where Ji Young works, but Kyung Ho's unexpected suggestion catches him off guard and sends him fleeing in a panic.

Mi Mi is heartbroken after cashing out the savings she has carefully set aside for Da Mi to cover Dae Chi's debts. Da Mi grows closer to Seung Yun over a casual street meal after helping him remove a stain from a tie that is precious to him. Meanwhile, Hak Sung checks Da Mi's ID card and is deeply shocked by what he discovers.

Seung Yun cannot understand why Da Mi looks so sad after saying the cotton candy tastes delicious. His grandmother, Geum Soon's words about his late parents bring both comfort and sorrow, while Mi Mi cannot bring herself to tell Da Mi she may use the money saved for her to pay Dae Chi's debt. Silence says more than anyone dares.

Ye Ri threatens Da Mi over a badly repaired heel, but Da Mi refuses to back down. When an article credits In Sung for a reform ordered by Geum Soon, she fires him in fury. Da Mi and Mi Mi drain their savings to pay Dae Chi's debt, but when Mi Mi sinks to the ground in a dizzy spell, how much more can they bear?

Soon Deok follows Hak Sung to his semi-basement home and lashes out with harsh words, while Geum Soon blames In Sung for failing to keep things under control. Meanwhile, Da Mi, who has broken her savings to protect her family, heads to Dae Chi's company.

Da Mi hands Dae Chi money to pay off his debt and asks him to keep it a secret, while Geum Soon quietly suggests that Seung Yun meet Dr. Ju. Meanwhile, Da Mi heads to Hwanggeum Apparel after hearing that Min Hee's contract won't be extended.

Jin Hee is shocked when her aunt sends her a photo of Da Mi, whom she abandoned in the past, while Da Mi asks Jin Hee to show Min Hee leniency but is turned down. Meanwhile, Mi Mi gives Dae Chi 80,000 dollars to pay his debt but demands that he pay it all back.

After Da Mi resigns from the department store, Seung Yun is troubled by her silence and worries about what drove her away. Elsewhere, Dae Chi receives a demand for a written statement over suspected embezzlement. As his parents' memorial day arrives, Seung Yun makes a solemn promise to find the truth behind the accident that killed them, whatever it reveals.

Seung Yun offers Da Mi unexpected comfort when he gives her detailed design advice he has carefully written in a notebook, just as she struggles with leaving the department store. The relief is fleeting when Mi Mi discovers she has quit and can no longer contain her anger at the troubles piling up around her children. As one heart is lifted, another reaches its breaking point.

Jin Hee learns that Da Mi turned down Do Yun's offer to manage the pop-up store and tells Ye Ri to report anything else she hears about her. Mi Mi is stunned to overhear Da Mi tell Min Hee she'll lounge around and live off her mom for a while. Meanwhile, Geum Soon asks Dr. Ju to look into Jin Hee's past. When he comes up empty-handed, she begins to suspect something.

Da Mi learns that Mi Mi helped pay some of Dae Chi's debt using the money she had put away in a savings account for Da Mi. Meanwhile, Kyung Ho opens up to Seung Yun about meeting Geum Soon in the past, and Seung Yun offers Da Mi a job as his assistant.
