無人島で違法な賭場が開かれ銃殺事件が発生する。そこへ検事が登場。しかしすべて検事に扮する詐欺師サ･ドチャンが仕組んだ芝居だった。その数時間後、本物の検事ペク･ジュンスは、交通事故に遭い意識不明のまま入院。後輩検事のオ･ハラはペクとうり二つのサ･ドチャンを見つけ出し、ある取り引きを持ちかける。

ペク･ジュンス検事の代役を頼まれたドチャンはナム･スンテから｢ブツ｣を受け取ったらお役御免のはずだった。だが作戦は失敗してしまい、しばらくペク検事のフリをして検察に通うことになり、ペク検事が追っていた麻薬事件を任される。そして麻薬組織の実体を追うために、ひそかに運び屋の元締めと接触する。

倉庫で襲われ一命を取り留めたドチャンは、ペクが追っていたのは麻薬組織のボス｢ヒグマ｣だと知る。ヒグマはドチャンが前から捜していた人物でもあった。ペクの代役を続けるドチャンだが、あまりの変わりように同僚たちに怪しまれる。ドチャンは検事正の誕生日会で、キル･デロ検事に偽者の証拠を突きつけられるが…。

検事正の誕生日会で正体を暴かれそうになったドチャンだったが、意識を取り戻したジュンスと入れ替わり難を逃れる。ドチャンはジュンスが回復するまでジュンスの代役を務めることになり、外交封印袋を利用した麻薬の密輸に捜査のメスを入れる。だが、事前に情報を得た外交官たちは捜査網をすり抜けてしまう。

大統領一行を止めたドチャンは荷物から麻薬を見つけ外交官のチェ･サンヒョンを逮捕する。しかしチェは大統領の指示だったと証言。ドチャンやハラの専門チームは解体され、事件の捜査権は特検に渡ることになる。そこでドチャンは、特検事務室に移送されるチェをわざと脱走させ、黒幕を暴こうとするのだが…。

トンヨン製粉のファン社長がヒグマだと目星をつけたドチャンたちはファン社長が所有する別荘に麻薬が隠されていることを見抜き、家宅捜索に向かう。事前に情報を得たファン社長は麻薬を運び出すが、ドチャンたちが奪い、ファン社長は逮捕される。ところがファン社長はヒグマになりすましている疑いが濃厚になる。

キム室長はチョ･ソンドゥを始末しようとするが、クム･テウンに止められ、チョは一命を取り留める。オ･ハラはポン監督らを利用し、クムの画廊で麻薬の売り上げを資金洗浄している状況をつかむ。ドチャンはファンの別荘がチェ･ジョンピルの所有だったことを知り、クムが妻殺しの罪を自分の父にかぶせたと推理する。

ドチャンはソンドゥを抱き込んでクム･テウンの情報を手に入れ、その過程でチェ･ジョンピルの資金源がケイ銀行だと突き止める。テウンはケイ銀行の頭取を脅して1000億ウォンを奪い取り、頭取を殺して自殺に偽装する。ジョンピルはテウンの裏切りに気づくが、折も折、南山クラブでテウンにクーデターを起こされてしまう。

ジュンスは収賄事件を起こしたドチャンに腹を立て、クム･テウンと手を組むことにする。検察に復帰したジュンスは、検事正の指示の下、クムの野望を成し遂げる手助けをする。ジュンスを止めたいハラは検事正とクムのつながりを暴く捜査に乗り出した。そしてドチャンはハラの頼みでフィールギャラリーに忍び込み、展示品を盗むと予告する。

展示品のファベルジェ･エッグが狙われていると思い込んだクム･テウンはジュンスに協力を依頼し、これを死守しようとするが、ドチャンらが狙っていたのはチョン･ドヨン元検事正が買った密輸入品の兵馬俑だった。この兵馬俑の所有が発覚することで、チョンは追い詰められて６年前にポン監督の弟を殺害したことを自白する。

心臓の不調で倒れたジュンスに代わり、ドチャンは再び検察庁に戻る。検事正が拘置所で死に、ヒグマ逮捕の捜査も本格化する。南山クラブでチェ総裁がトゥルキスタンの天然ガス事業に投資するという情報を得たドチャンは、ビクトルを調べるうち、投資話が詐欺ではないかと考え、クムを事業に投資させようと企む。

ドチャンはビクトルを介して父親のマチョンと再会するが、互いに素直になれず他人のふりをする。ドチャンとマチョンは手を組んで天然ガス事業の投資話でクム･テウンをだまそうとする。ところがクムはドチャンとジュンスがグルだということを突き止め、投資話に乗ったフリをしてドチャンをおびき寄せて始末しようとする。

父親を目の前で殺されたドチャンは、クムの画廊に乗り込む。言い争いの末、クムが転倒し頭を打つ。クムが死んだと思ったドチャンは逃走するが、実はクムは死んだフリをしてドチャンをハメたのだった。父親の復讐をするため、ドチャンはクムの秘密口座をハッキングして別荘におびき出し、殺そうとするのだが…。

ドチャンは殺人未遂や公務員詐称などの容疑で拘置所に入れられてしまう。クム･テウンは海外口座の秘密資金を国内に移すために奔走するがドチャンの詐欺団が国際弁護士を装い、これを邪魔しようとする。一方、ジュンスはドチャンを脱獄させて、自分がドチャンに成り済まし、クムに襲わせる計画をドチャンに提案するが…。

脱獄事件で消えたのはドチャンではなくペク検事だった。ドチャンは病気のペク検事の頼みで検事のふりをしていたのだ。海外から2000億を運び込みたいクムは、知らぬ間にドチャンの作戦にハマっていく。国際弁護士に扮するインテのプレゼンに乗せられ、国内に送った資金をカジノで現金に換えることにするのだが…。

ドチャンらはクムの全財産2000億ウォンをだまし取ることに成功する。そしてハラたちはついにクムの逮捕に成功する。クムは最後の望みを懸けてソンドゥに裁判で証人になってくれと頼まれるが法廷で裏切られてしまい、結局、死刑判決を宣告される。務めを全うしたドチャンはハラとも詐欺団の仲間とも別れる決意をするが…。

Joon Soo becomes furious about the fact that Do Chan has impersonated him. He tells Tae Woong where Do Chan and his gang are hiding and demands his name to be cleared in return. Meanwhile, Joon Soo and Ha Ra each start an investigation while keeping it a secret from each other.

Ha Ra meets Do Chan in secret and tells him to investigate Feel Gallery. Joon Soo successfully makes Assemblyman Lee Gil Ho retire. District Prosecutor, Jung Do Young, gets a chance to run for National Assembly. Meanwhile, Do Chan and his gang come up with a plan to pull a scam on Feel Gallery.

With the help from Joon Soo, Tae Woong is trying to make Do Young enter the National Assembly. Ha Ra finds out about the connection between Do Young and Tae Woong. Do Chan and the gang try to find Do Young's weak spot.

On account of the smuggled sculptures, Do Young gets summoned to the office and is interrogated. However, this was an elaborate trap. The truth behind what happened six years ago gets revealed.

Joon Soo isn't well due to the damage to his heart caused by the car accident. Unable to go through with the plan, Joon Soo asks Do Chan to do another switch. Do Chan agrees and assumes the role of Joon Soo once again. Tae Woong begins to get suspicious of Joon Soo and decides to test his loyalty in various ways. He wants Joon Soo to end Jung Pil. Meanwhile, Do Chan meets with Jung Pil as Joon Soo and hears about a business investment in Turkmenistan.

Do Chan figures out that the Turkmenistan natural gas business is a con. He and his team prepare another con using it as bait so that they can reveal Tae Woong's hidden assets. However, they find out that someone has already been planning to use it as a bait to get to Tae Woong. As Turkmenistan begins to get more media coverage. Geum Tae Woong begins to get greedy and shows interest in investing in it.

Suspicious of Do Chan's real identity, Tae Woong cross-checks the voice recordings of Do Chan and Joon Soo. In order to get Tae Woong, Do Chan teams up with Ma Chun. However, he is unaware of Tae Woong's real intentions.

Things are going according to their plan, but Ha Ra feels like something is off. While Ha Ra looks into it, Do Chan goes to meet Tae Woong where he will sign the contract. Ha Ra soon realizes that it's a trap.

Do Chan loses his father once again in the hand of Tae Woong. Do Chan attacks Tae Woong out of fury and becomes a murder suspect. Ha Ra and Ji Soong become worried about people finding out the truth. Joon Soo gets out of the hospital and attends the Prosecutor’s Office to solve Do Chan’s problem.

The truth behind what happened 20 years ago gets revealed. Joon Soo realizes that Do Chan's existence is an obstacle to catching Tae Woong. At last, Do Chan and Tae Woong reunite at the vacation house.

Do Chan gets arrested for attempted murder of Tae Woong. Meanwhile, Joon Soo realizes that his life will end soon, so he offers Do Chan to live as Joon Soo. Tae Woong finds out that his secret account is close to getting revealed by prosecutors, so he calls in the lawyers and plans a way to move the money.

Joon Soo helps Do Chan to escape from prison. Tae Woong orders Hyun Wook to bring Do Chan as soon as he escapes. Ha Ra finds out Simon Jo is Cho Sung Doo, who is the secret son of Tae Woong. Jung Pil and Joon Soo set up a lie to catch Tae Woong.

It turns out that Joon Soo was the one who went missing, not Do Chan. Do Chan was acting as Joon Soo as it was his last favor. Ha Ra investigates Hyun Wook and waits for him to confess that Tae Woong was behind all these murders that Hyun Wook did in the past. Meanwhile, Tae Woong works hard to get his money back into the country.

Do Chan is taken aback after Ha Ra tells him that he is quite a good person. She continues on by saying that she is glad it was him who pretended to be Joon Soo. Meanwhile, Gi Bong is interrogated by prosecutors regarding Baek Joon Soo's identity.

Do Chan and Ha Ra raid Tae Woong’s truck on the road, but find cabbages only. Do Chan and his crew confirm that Tae Woong needs to liquidate his unregistered bond before he leaves the country, so they come up with a brilliant plan with a diamond called “White Star” to rip him off completely.

Recovered from the surgery, Joon Soo comes back to the prosecutions and attends the trial with Ha Ra to prosecute Tae Woong’s case. Cho Sung Doo comes to the court as a witness and finally confesses that he murdered Nam Seung Tae upon Tae Woong’s order.
