Journalist Peggy returns to Oldenheim after years of absence to restore contact with her father and sister. On the same day, 16-year-old Nine mysteriously disappears. Her bicycle is found in the ditch, but where has she gone?

Detective Sharif Dahmani comes to Oldenheim to lead the investigation of the missing Nine. A large-scale search for the girl is launched. That this is not an ordinary affair appears when a second Oldenheimer inexplicably disappears.
