Commissioner Forst investigates a grisly mountaintop murder while navigating a tense inspector, a nosy journalist and a possible second death.

While investigating a new crime scene with possible links to the killer, Forst pushes his luck and suffers a setback that threatens the entire case.

After researchers figure out the identity of the decapitated body found in the stream, Forst's investigation becomes entangled with powerful people.

Olga uncovers Staszek's secret. Then, Forst makes a mental connection that brings him one step closer to the killer — and one step closer to danger.

While Forst hunts the Beast of Giewont, the police department hunts Forst, and the only way for Forst to beat their allegations is to fight his way out.

When the Beast kidnaps a person close to the inspector, the entire police department focuses on her safe return, including Forst.
