Prosecutor Domínguez has certain suspicions about Antonio because, as a cuckolded husband, he would have had the perfect motive to attack Clara—were it not for the fact that he only discovered her infidelity after the incident. Antonio is concerned about the direction the investigation is taking, and as soon as he could, he spoke with León about the blood on the oar. Prosecutor Domínguez’s visit to León’s apartment was very unpleasant for the doctor, who felt he was among the possible suspects in the crime against Clara. The police already know that Antonio and Samuel met at that same location, and according to Insulza, he had merely acted as a mediator between the two—a claim that didn’t quite convince the prosecutor. If it hadn’t been for an emergency call regarding Daniel’s serious collapse, the tense conversation might have continued. Emilia was shocked by her grandmother’s indifference. However, District Attorney Domínguez needed to speak with the businesswoman and went to the restaurant himself to question her about the night Clara disappeared. According to the testimony of one of the employees, Aurora had shaken Clara violently during the party, and she had to make up excuses to answer the district attorney’s questions. Daniel wanted to unburden himself to Francesca, but she was still so hurt by him that she decided not to tell him about her illness. Alone, with no one to confide in about the ordeal he was going through, he thought only of his mother and deeply regretted having treated her badly the last time they saw each other.
