Tony Stark, Multimilliardär und Inhaber des Rüstungsimperiums Stark Industries, hat sich aus dem Waffengeschäft zurückgezogen und sich dem Kampf gegen das Böse verschrieben. Mit Hilfe eines selbstentwickelten High-Tech-Anzuges kämpft der Erfinder als Iron Man für Gerechtigkeit. Doch das Superheldendasein zerrt an Starks Kräften und insgeheim erwägt er, sich zur Ruhe zu setzen. Als er von der japanischen Regierung mit der Konstruktion eines neuartigen Reaktors beauftragt wird, zieht er nach Japan. Während er den Bau vorantreibt, tüftelt er an einer Weiterentwicklung seines Kampfanzuges. Seine Idee ist es mit einem ultimativen Kampfanzug in Serie zu gehen, um auf diese Weise gleich eine Vielzahl von Iron-Man-Nachfolgern zu installieren. Stark tauft den Prototypen Iron Man Dio und lässt es sich nicht nehmen, ihn persönlich seinen japanischen Kollegen vorzuführen. Doch beim Testflug stürzt Tony auf Grund einer Fehlfunktion ab. Nach einer Überholung des Anzugs steigt daher ein japanischer Kollege in den Dio, der plötzlich die Kontrolle übernimmt und den Piloten zwei Kameraden töten lässt. Tony hat keine andere Wahl. Er ist gezwungen erneut zu Iron Man zu werden und gegen seine eigene Erfindung zu kämpfen. Er wittert hinter dem Vorfall einen Sabotageakt der Zodiac-Gruppe. Stark ist klar, dass er sich von seinem Superheldendasein noch lange nicht verabschieden kann. Iron Man wird gebraucht.

Tony Stark is accused by Defense Minister Kuroda of trying to avoid controversy by sneaking plutonium into Japan aboard an undefended cargo ship. This ship has been attacked and the plutonium stolen, posing a grave threat. Tony dons the Iron Man armor and vows to retrieve the plutonium and clear his name.

Nanami is trying to get to the bottom of the rash of freak hurricanes that have killed two notable scientists. Her search takes her to Professor Sakamoto, and his former student, Dr. Tanaka. Sakamoto and Tanaka were once part of something called the Tesla Project, which was working to control the weather. Is the Tesla project a part of the weird weather attacking Japan, and even if they figure that out, how do they stop it? Can Iron Man defeat the weather?

Tony Stark is backing a charity racing event in order to burnish the image of Stark Industries. Meanwhile, Kawashima, a race car driver who's suffered career-threatening injuries, is won over by A.I.M./Zodiac who promise him they will heal his injuries if he takes out Tony Stark.

In Japan breitet sich eine rätselhafte Epidemie aus, die zu plötzlichem Erbrechen bei zahlreichen Bürgern führt. Als Tony und die Leiterin seines Labors, Dr. Tanaka, die Infizierten untersuchen, machen sie eine erstaunliche Entdeckung: Die Krankheit scheint weder auf Viren noch Bakterien oder Chemikalien zurückzugehen. Die Regierung vermutet die Ursache in den Werken von Stark Industries und lässt die Armee den Gebäudekomplex abriegeln. Schnell wird deutlich, dass ein außer Kontrolle geratener Militärsatellit gefährliche Strahlungen ausgesandt hat, die auf den ARK-Reaktor getroffen sind und so die Seuche verursacht hat. Mit der Hilfe von Sakarai erreicht Iron Man in einem Spezialjet den Weltraum, um den stählernen Koloss zu besiegen. Nur kurz darauf kündigt sich eine neue Bedrohung an: Ein Computervirus befällt den ARK-Reaktor. Zum Schutz errichtet Tony eine Firewall, legt dabei aber unfreiwillig die öffentlichen Systeme lahm. Wie sich herausstellt, entwickelte der mittlerweile für Zodiac arbeitende Informatiker Sho das schädliche Programm. Er ist in der Lage, menschliche Gedanken in eine Software zu übertragen. Als Iron Man stellt sich Tony der Auseinandersetzung mit seiner eigenen Willenskraft. Doch dies soll nur der Anfang eines unerbittlichen Kampfes zwischen Tony und Zodiac sein. Welche finsteren Pläne wird die Gruppe in Zukunft schmieden? Und bahnt sich eine Beziehung zwischen Tony und Dr. Tanaka an?

When the Arc Station has a series of malfunctions, Tony and Dr. Tanaka discover a Zodiac computer virus has infected the Station's operating systems. The virus spreads to the city's ATM banking computers, train navigation computers and traffic controls, causing chaos. Tony decides the only way to combat the virus is to draw it to another computer... his Iron Man onboard computer!

Tony and Dr.Tanaka are wake up on an isolated island with no idea how they got there and no hope of getting off the island. Missing his life-saving arc reactor and without his Iron Man armor, how will Tony and Chika be able to escape? And, who put them there in the first place?

Tony Stark meets Aki, a mysterious young girl with strange powers. Tony is shocked when the girl tells him that she belongs to Zodiac and mentions that she needs Tony, as Iron Man to protect her from Zodiac. Is Aki who she says she is? And even if she is, how can Tony trust her?

The plutonium needed to prime the Arc Station is stolen and Tony must don the Iron Man armor and fight against Dio. The two Iron Men must fight to the death, with the fate of Japan hanging in the balance.

"Iron Man is dead!" Dr. Chika Tanaka hears these astounding words from Yinsen's own lips. Meanwhile, the seriously wounded Tony Stark survives with the help of Nagato Sakurai and must devise a way to defeat Dio once and for all. But what awaits the arrival of Iron Man is not only Dio, but also four Iron Man Sigma models as well. How will Tony Stark overcome the hopeless situation he finds himself in?

Held responsible for the event at the Arc Station, Tony Stark is arrested by the Japanese government. But while being transported, explosions rock the Diet parliament building, and suspicions are raised that Stark is behind it. Will Tony Stark be able to clear his name, and take out the real threat behind the Diet bombing?
